Fortune's Fool, not half bad
I gave it the full five starts because it is despite some of its faults a good read. No its not as good as The Fairy Godmother (Tales of the Five Hundred Kingdoms, Book 1) The first book in the series. But it is still very sweet, its is slow at first as they try and ...

Better than i expected
I bought this on spec as i like ML's work, but I wasnt expecting a lot from a rewritten myth. I was wrong the story is well written and the characters likable or not as they should be, with a mild twist at the end. a fun read.

A wonderful read!
As someone who once (many years ago) was a dancer, I found this book fascinating. I love Misty's work anyway, but it is rare to find someone who is not a dancer who understands the blisters, the pain, the strains, the panic, the in-fighting, and conversely, the sense ...

No one in the Nine Cities for almost one millennium cast a High Magick spell until Tiercel Rolfort did it in the Moonturn of Flowering (see THE PHOENIX UNCHAINED). Stunned by his undesired by him accomplishment, the apparent Knight-Mage has begun "seeing" a beautiful ...

The Snow Queen (2008) is the fourth fantasy novel in the Tales of the Five Hundred Kingdoms series, following Fortunes's Fool. In the previous volume, Guiliette forgave Rheinhardt and herself and a beam of light took her into the heavens. Katya, Sasha, the Queen of ...

Misty does it again!
I've been reading Mercedes Lackey for over 20years now. She never fails to disapoint. The Valdemar series has proven to be my favorite (even though it's so hard to choose, they are all great). This is the third book of short stories in the Valdemar Universe. It's ...

Great Series...
This novel as well as the other two that follow Magic's Pawn is amazing. I have not gotten so attached to a character in a very, very long time. This book was loaned out to me because I was looking for a good fantasy read. Well I found one. I really do feel for ...

Aerie Review
Characters that are easy to love and follow include people as well as the dragons. This is an excellent story and ties the series together well.

The Best Was Saved For Last
This was by far my favorite because it was so much more realistic. Lackey does not shy away from what happens to women who are held captive by those bent on harm. The 'far fetching' was exactly that, a little too good to be true, but who wouldn't like to have an ...

One of my all time favorites
This is one of the most enjoyable reads ever. Good story, the world is detailed and interesting, and the story moves at a nice pace. I've already reread a few times- it's still one of my favorites!
