Azul el sombrero, verde el sombrero (Blue Hat, Green Hat -- Spanish version)
Libros Para Ninos, 2003
ay carumba! Even though the translation from english to spanish isn't the best this book is more enjoyable than the english version. My daughter laughs and laughs each time we read 'ay carumba'. She doesn't seem nearly as enchanted with the english version.
I'll read her ...

Great little book! Cute book. I'm so thankful many of these books are now translated into Spanish. This is very encouraging to bi-lingual/bi-cultural families.

Ali and Nino: A Love Story Kurban Said
Anchor, 2000
Great story! After reading "The Orientalist" I just had to follow up with Ali and Nino. I have to agree, it's a masterpiece. It's an epic love story. It's a bit of a history lesson. And it gives a lot of sympathetic insight into cultures that I have very little sympathy towards.

Perritos: Un libro para contar y ladrar (Doggies -- Spanish version)
Libros Para Ninos, 2004
Goes flawlessly with Flip Flop Spanish I can't get over how well this line of books goes with the lessons laid out in Flip Flop Spanish: Ages 3-5: Level 1. I used this book after the chapter on counting, and of course my kids already knew the word for Dog, so it was just a wonderful reinforcer. What a FUN ...

Little Nino's Pizzeria Karen Barbour
Voyager Books, 1990
Excellent! My kids adore this book. It's a very quick read--you can zip right through the short, meaty text. Yet the message is profound. Nino the pizza-maker closes down his cheerful little pizzeria and builds a big, fancy restaurant. He makes lots of money, but sacrifices ...

Conversacion y controversia: Topicos de hoy y de siempre (5th Edition) Nino R. Iorillo, Andres C. Diaz

Good for Vocab. but Lacking in Grammar Review This book is good for vocab. acquisition but that's about it. With topics such as abortion, suicide, capital punishment, religion, immigration, and othes you might ask yourself how you could go wrong. Well basically, the problem that I have with this book is that the ...
