Mr. Market Miscalculates: The Bubble Years and Beyond James Grant
Axios Press, 2008
enlightening I haven't finished the book - but I have greatly enjoyed what I have read so far.
And yes, it is a compilation of old bi-monthly written reviews from Grant's Interest Rate Observer, and it is a recently selected compilation.
perhaps that means that the less ...

The Complete TurtleTrader: The Legend, the Lessons, the Results Michael W. Covel
Collins Business, 2007
Loved it. This book changed how I thought about trading. The only thing I didn't like about it was that Michael Covel used the word turtle so much that by the time I finished the book, I never wanted to hear the word again. But this was an excelent buy.

The Panic of 1907: Lessons Learned from the Market's Perfect Storm
Wiley, 2007
Panic of 2009 While I was initially very skeptical about this book, it does provide some very interesting food for thought and eerie parallels between 1907 and 2009. If you are seriously interested in where we have been and where we could be heading, I would recommend that you read ...

The Little Book That Beats the Market (Little Books. Big Profits) Joel Greenblatt
Wiley, 2005
A simplistic way to understand Investment and the Market I read this book after hearing so much from my boss, and my bosses boss. Certain moment's it was way to simplistic, for my style, but pretty clear explaining the basic principles of the market. My wife that is not a Market savvy person, enjoyed so much and after read ...

Irrational Exuberance Robert J. Shiller
Broadway Business, 2006
Great Book for the Times This book tries to get at the heart of what causes bubbles. Schiller is honest that there is no one cause that can be purely attributed the to building of a financial bubble nor does he contend that the bursting of a bubble can be predictable. He uses examples from ...

Den of Thieves James B. Stewart

Unbelievable that ANYONE would defend these rats !!!! After all these years, low-lifes like Milkin still have defenders when the affadavits on Otter Creek are pretty incriminating.
The most angering fact is that Milkin gets to do his little BS PR act with charities after serving a light sentence at Club Fed.

Jesse Livermore: World's Greatest Stock Trader Richard Smitten
