Outrageously Funny

I have been wanting to read this book for a while and have only recently gotten to it. This is the first Christopher Moore book that I have read and I do not suspect that it will be the last. Moore may be an even more accomplished writer of humorous fiction than Terry Pratchett.

Raziel, an angel who missed his first opportuity to make a big annoucement on Earth, has had 2000 years to contemplate his next opportunity. He is to grant the wish of a child, though he unfortunately misinterprets the wish of the child. This sets into motion a series of events that raise the dead from their graves and kill many people in the city. In a city with a B-movie stars with a mental illness, an officer of the law trying to break a habit with Mary Jane, and star crossed lovers that meet at a murder scene, there is certain to be plenty of opportunities for Moore to prove his wit. He does not miss the opportunity.

This book is not for everybody. There is plenty of sex, swearing, and drug references in these pages. If these themes offend you, steer away from this book. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this book to anybody.

Great litttle Christmas Story

I loved this book. I bought it because it looked like a great escape from the holiday stress. It most definitely was. I have forced it on all my friends and loved ones as well.As soon as I finished I went out and purchased a copy of Lamb. It appears I will spend 2007 reading my way through the works of christopher Moore. I haven't been this excited about an author since I was in my Kurt Vonnegut period.

Moore Better Best......

this man makes my literary day.....this book ranks right up there with Bloodsucking Fiends, Lamb, and Dirty Job....i love his characters, i love the outrageous situations he puts them in.....i love the scope of what he does....
i just started reading him in june of this year and since have purchased or read all that he has put out....completely the biggest fan now....
if you are a lover of Terry Pratchett i have no idea why you wouldn't love this author....
what? you've never heard of Terry Pratchett??!!!!

More Pine Cove, Please!

I've just finished reading Chris Moore's hilarious third installment of the adventures of Pine Cove - Practical Demonkeeping, Lust Lizard & The Stupidest Angel. I can't decide which of them I enjoyed more, but this one builds to a comic climax of dizzying heights. Quite simply, I loved it. Highly recommended!

Not his best, but still amazing

Christopher Moore became my new favorite author just a few pages into his novel Lamb. Every one of his books should have any literate person laughing out loud (the illiterate probably won't get a whole lot out of it, since his books don't have pictures).

The Stupidest Angel, while still quite funny, doesn't live up to par with the rest of his works. It seems like he forced himself into writing the story line, and it was put together a bit shoddily. Even as one of Moore's less-spectacular stories, it still had plenty of moments of laugh-out-loud hilarity. A must for Christopher Moore fans, but for those just starting to read his works, I'd suggest Lamb or Fluke.
