Great Addition to the Series
I devoured the first 2
book
s in this series, and am currently digesting the
Waste
Lands
and loving it. Stephen King continues to weave a brilliant and fascinating fantasy tale, one that I hope never ends, and one (thank goodness) has four more books to go.
Fans of the first two in the series will not be disappointed. The story moves along to new adventures and challenges, each as interesting as the last.
A Dark Glimpse at the people left behind
The
Waste
Lands
gives you a
Dark
glimpse at the people left behind to make a life for themselves in this cesspool of a world. It also shows that there are some remnants of technology that haven't quite moved on to that clearing at the end of the path.
King's Story of a world that has "Moved On" is extremely entertaining. A Post apocalyptic lovers Dream
Book
! Set in the far off future ware were not shooting at each other with Laser beams but Hard Caliber 6 shooters. Roland is a Gun Slinger, a Law Giver on a quest to find the Dark
Tower
, a nexus point that holds millions of time lines and worlds in check. Roland's quest will sling shot him back and forth between the present, future, and Past. All of Kings Books tie into this Dark Tower in some way or another. When you finish the Story, your going to want to re-read the Dark Tower series Again, & Again to catch the subtle nuances that tie everything together.

Just as GOOD as volume 1!
The
Waste
Lands
was sensational! The
Dark
Tower
is now one step closer.Stephen King has made another volume to keep us entralled and it does on every page. He just keeps on giving and making us come back for more.
okay.
There are some good reviews on this page.I recommend that you read them. And because there are good ones,I would not write too many words in this review concerning the respective
book
.
I simply want to let you know that it is a great book.Well developed and extremely fascinating.
Now that Roland has begun to form his group(from the previous book),we begin to learn more of the history of his world and of how all the worlds fit together. The grourp begins to travel..and yet Roland is having problems, and is slowly losing his mind.(this is hinted in the previous book also)
He completes his group, and they travel on...and they find a city from the past, haunted by the ghosts of technology and the superstition on the inhabitants.
After making it through,we see the real
WASTE
LANDS
,so much more terrible that the wide desert Roland crossed at the beginning of the King's tale.
The book is quite well written, and very consistent...we see the wheel of ka turning through everyone's life, drawing them together.Quite a few things you learn here become important later on...and for fans of his other books,we even see and old Friend!...enjoy...Nigel.

Wastelands
The first half takes a lot to get through and does not get explained in this
book
of the story, but eventually does. The second half more than makes up for it though.
