Grisham at his best
This is, no question, hands down, Grisham's best book. He creates a plot that is truly exciting. It creates suspense and cleverly throws unexpected twists into Mitch McDeere's way as he tries to expose The
Firm
for what it really is.
If you are going to start reading John Grisham books, read this one first. It sure got me hooked.

The Angel Hunter
I honestly did not think the Harvard graduate in Memphis sounded very good. How wrong I was. From the opening you get the odd sense that something smells bad about this
firm
that Mitch has hired on with. And over the course of the story, the smell only gets worse, and not just for the character, his wife as well. The inner workings of this covert law firm keep you guessing through much of the book. The shading and innuendoes Grisham uses has you believing they could be just laundering money or hiding the secrets of Area 51. I enjoy well thought-out logic, real or not, in a novel. And how Mitch gets out of his predicament with this firm is not only believable it's enjoyable. I think this is one of the author's best works. I am a fan of his other books yes, but the Firm will always be in my collection of all time favorite novels.

The Firm
Excellent read - kept me on the edge of my seat and not wanting to put it down.
Not Free SF Reader
Plum lawyer job not so good after all.
When a hotshot young lawyer is enticed to work for a famous
firm
he discovers after a while that they really aren't very nice, and not something he wants to be a part of.
Then you get a mystery/thriller with chases, etc., but rather than spy or cop or military hero, you have a legal one.
That wasn't particularly interesting to me, so I never bothered with another Grisham.
