Gabriela the Great!

I am so glad that someone recently "found" Gabriela and her work is getting published! This is some of the best piano solo I have ever heard. After hearing a spot on National Public Radio I bought the CD, and am delighted.

Absolutely beautiful

Gabriela Montero can do no wrong. She is a gifted pianist who intuitively interprets challenging piano pieces and often gives them a special twist of her own. I love her work.

Favorite purchase of the year.

Though I had heard Gabriela Montero on PBS, which is why I decided to purchase this album, I was surprised at just how good the double album was. Her playing is flawless, light, well articulated, and the bonus album, an improvisational treatment on mostly classical themes, is delightful, sounds very much the way Bill Evans would have approached this type of music. The music is great, and I find myself playing both cd's over and over again. Highly recommended.

Delightful!

Gabriel excells in all her work but i am most taken with the bonus improvisational disc. I never tire of it. It's joyful, romantic, meditative, masterful and magnificent. I believe her to be the reincarnation of Frederic Chopin.

Great improvs on the classics

Just saw the 60 minutes, great stuff. The improvs are similar in concept to Ken Pedersen's 'Deja Views' which was in the top 5 on the New Age Charts for six months in 1999. Gabriela's virtuousity is amazing. Deja Views is more meditative.
