Going home

I owned this recording of the Nocturnes on vinyl many years ago and have just got around to purchasing it on CD. I presently own many, many wonderful recordings of Chopin's Nocturnes. However, listening to the Rubinstein's recording again, after so many years, was like going home (in the best sense of the phrase). I love the Nocturnes; they are my favorite works of Chopin. All I can say is that Rubinstein's recordings are, indeed, the best! I love all my recordings of the Nocturnes; but the Artur Rubinstein's recording, of them, sooth my soul and emotionally move me down to the very marrow of my bones. The recording, honestly, moves me to tears.
If you love Chopin and love his Nocturnes, as I do, buy this recording; there is none better!

Better on vinyl

This music is indescribably lovely - maybe I am more susceptible to its charms than most, as this is me, my soul, played out to music. How could anybody dislike this or dismiss it as background music. I am an avowed atheist but only when listening to this music am I able to question this belief. Oh, my memories, my emotions, this is quite honestly better than sex, the 'opposite of sex' but better!

Pursue these recordings on vinyl - all music is usually better on vinyl, but with top-division music like this, possessing it on vinyl means that instead of having just gorgeous music on your hands you have, almost literally, heaven.

Beautiful - Rubinstein's Chopin is by far The Best!

Rubinstein's is the Chopin I keep coming back to - simply exquisite. This album is the best Nocturnes recording.
