LOVE THIS MOVIE,CLASSIC MARTIN
I love this movie,I watch it every 3 months and went crazy when I didn't have the DVD. I love Qeen Latifah and she does a wonderful job in this movie, she has proven time and time again that she's a great comedic actress. She holds her own next to one of the greatest, Steve Martin and I can't forget to mention Eugene Levy rolls is awesome.
A Must Watch Film!!!
I have to say that this movie is very very funny!!! Steve Martin had me laughing tears out of my seat in the theater and everyone else too, all of the other characters were hilarious also. I own this dvd now and watch it often as it is one of my top 10 comedy movies of all time, I would definitely at least rent this movie and you will probably not return it because it is so good!

Racial Jokes Aside
Peter (played by Steve Martin) and Charlene (played by Queen Latifah) are chatroom buddies on the internet. Peter claimed to be a criminal lawyer when in fact was just a tax attorney. Charlene claimed that she was a lawyer as well, when in fact she was a wanted fugitive in need of a lawyer. Both of them carrying their lies agree to a dinner date at, Peter's
house
and come to a shocking discovery that neither of them were as they claimed.
Since they had both lied of about their physical descriptions, charlene; tall, slender, blonde woman...turned out to be short, chubby, african american woman. peter: boyishly looking guy with light hair...turned out to be, old guy with grey hair. The arguement begins at that point and continues through out the movies with lots of racial jokes and physical comedy and gags. Some of it is funny and some of it can be offensive to the more sensative viewers. For example in one scene, Charlene is yelling outside of Peter's house and a neighbor across the street comes out with a rod saying, "do I hear negro talk?". Another scene with Charlene, she gets into a fist fight with a tall, slender blonde woman and Charlene says "you're pretty tough for a white chick.." in the midst of the fight as she is getting whipped.
Later in a scene with Peter, he goes disguised as a homey complete with gold chain, shorts, sneakers, jersey, shades and a beenie hat, trying to act black and walk like a cool guy. The movie is filled with lots of low brow humor and racial talk trashing about the differences of being a black person or white person. Sure some of it is funny, but some of it is pretty weak as well, it tries to exaggerate simple situations with lots of silly talk and arguements. Humor is subjective to the eyes of the viewer as always, but I would not recommend this for young children or older adults. I think the target audience for this movie is geared more for teens and young adults.
