A masterpiece from a truly great entertainer.

Cieli Di Toscana is one of my top half-dozen favorite music albums, and I own hundreds, of various genres from Bach to rock. This album is very different from Romanza. Not that I don't like Romanza, but after "Con Te Partiro", that album is all downhill. (Kind of hard to match an opening track like that, no?) Not so with Cieli Di Toscana; this album is beautiful music from start to finish; every track is a masterpiece. In this album, Bocelli proves himself a great, great Italian popular-music singer. In Cieli, Bocelli makes especially good use of the lower registers of his voice, which are rich, sonorous, and endlessly varied in tone. This album is quieter and more laid-back than Romanza. But why shouldn't it be? Who cares whether Andrea Bocelli has the technical prowess as a tenor of a Caruso or a Coreli? That's not what he's all about. This man is a lover, a poet, and an entertainer. He knows how to reach out and touch hearts all over the world, and he does so powerfully on this album. My favorite tracks are the poignant "Il Mistero Dell Amore", the quiet "Chiara", and the playful "Il Diavolo e l'Angelo". All in all, a great romantic album from a truly great entertainer.

Cieli di Toscana e buonissimo!

Although I've liked Andrea Bocelli's voice, I had been a little hesitant to order his CDs, as my taste in music (or lack thereof) has been a little different than my expectations for this CD.

WAS I WRONG! Amazing!!! If you don't like this CD, "I'll buy it from you"!

Wonderful! I want it back!

I LOVE this CD. So much so that I'm about to buy it again, I lent it out and when I got it back without the case completely misplaced it. Anyway, this music is great for any setting, it's very powerful, and I'm going to get it again SOMEHOW.

Wife loves this cd!

Ok, guys hate chick flicks right? I would categorize this as a chick cd. My wife loves this guy. Let's just say it's a great mood setter as well. Because of that I have to give this guy five stars. The guy has a tremendous voice. I grew up on Pavarotti, but Bocelli can belt out a song. My wife likes the fact that he's not to "opera-ish." Also own Romanza and Sogno.

Opera to Pop-ra

Andrea Bocelli has a breakthrough with this album, in two ways. First, he approaches classical Italian pieces with pop phrases as opposed to operatic grandeur. Second, perhaps by doing this he allowed himself to feel the songs more personally rather than by acting in the part of a particular operatic role. Compared to his other albums, such as "The Opera Album", Bocelli steps outside of the genre of opera and its strict technique and outside critique, and instead opens his emotions up to us all. Highlights of "Cieli Di Toscana" include "Melodramma", "Chiara", and "Resta Qui." There is no doubt that in this album, Bocelli sings from the heart!
