Powerful
Can one get tired of hearing about the holocaust? Not as long as there are new things to learn - and it seems there always are. Rich with detail and new information as well as special features that interview experts and survivors, this DVD adds to our growing understanding of the
Nazi
s and their mission. One unsettling admission is how much like "us" the Nazis seemed to be when interviewed after the war. They believed, at the time, that what they were doing was the right thing to do. They weren't, as I always thought, "just following orders." They believed in what they were doing. How often do we all say that? And how often are we just plain wrong? We need to understand these things and more if we are to truly to be able to say, "Never again!" All these years later, so little has changed.
The more we tire of hearing about the Holocaust and refuse to believe that it is a problem for today, the more vulnerable we become to its reality. I will never look away. Those people had to live it. The least we can do is to bear witness - every single time the opportunity arises.

EVERYONE SHOULD SEE THIS
The best ever exploration of the
Nazi
death camps, specifically
Auschwitz
, but the others were much the same. A stellar production from start to finish, though the conversations by the learned few at the ends of the episodes -- and this is just my opinion -- just prove how dumb smart people can be sometimes. They add noting to this FANTASTIC production, and in fact detract from it. But not enough to take a star away. Heck, this is worth TEN STARS.
Enlightment
I read Aushwitz-
Inside
the
Nazi
State
. Last year and it was a book i had a hard time putting down. First person views of what they saw and the horrible and grusome details of what went on then. Hard to belive even after reading this book how one man's idea can come alive and the men and women who would make sure these ideals where brought to bear on the world at that time, and place. And for those who thought they where on the side of good were really on the side of evil. How another human could treat another human so inhuman is well..... INHUMAN!!!! Read this book and you will see what i saw in my mind and let's PRAY this never happen's again.

Entertaining
I give this a solid three starts because it is a quality production based on an effective mix of dramatised and original footage. The pace is natural, the scripted scenes are sometimes moving and the information is engaging however, on the whole, it is not compelling. It will complement any collection of similar
nazi
expositions but it will not astound or astonish.
