Hilarious from beginning to end!

I picked this book up for a little light entertainment, and I was quite simply blown away by the talent of the author, Sophie Kinsella! I was captured by her story and main character from the very beginning. Becky Bloomwood is the essence of the compulsive shopper's dark side that lingers in all of us. (Well, maybe not all of us -- but it sure lingers in me!)

Her plotting was intense! Every time I thought she had written herself into a corner, Ms. Kinsella brought the story to an even greater level of tension. Becky Bloomwood was perfectly drawn. As crazy as she was, I understood her every motivation -- even though I was cringing as she messed things up over and over again.

If you are searching for an escapist read that will thoroughly entertain you, I highly recommend Confessions of a Shopaholic.

The best recommendation I can give you is this: I've begun to order every single one of Sophie Kinsella's books from Amazon.com -- and I consider it money well spent! (Certainly, it's just what Becky would have done!!)

The First Book of a Great Series

You won't be able to leave it once you begin reading it.
Amazon shipped it so fast, I had the book the day after I ordered it.

So Funny!

This book is like watching one of those extreme sports shows. You know that the skate boarder is going to crash and break his arm, but you can't turn away. It was so entertaining to listen to all of Becky's justifications for buying what she thought she needed. Becky Bloomwood is hilarious and one of the most entertaining characters I have ever encountered. I think most everyone can relate to Becky and her spending, I know I could. Even with all her faults I couldn't help but root for her, and I think you will too. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Poor, poor Becky

ANother recommendation, and right on the money (pun indeed intended). At first I thought I wouldn't be able to connect with the heroine, Becky, because she's just too flaky, but she sucked me in. The writing is fantastic, I read the book in one go. I had to find out that everthing would be alright, and now I can't wait fot the next installment of the series.
Kinsella is my new fav author!
