"This is a book about feeling good."
On the back cover of this
book
it says, 'This is a book
about
feeling good.' I couldn't agree more. As my first child approached the time to begin solid foods, I began researching
nutrition
and healthy foods. There is so much conflicting and confusing information out there. It got to the point where one night while grocery shopping I was almost in tears after spending almost two hours reading labels and still feeling lost about what to feed my
family
.
This book is extremely informative without being 'over
you
r head'. I see it as a sort of 'Nutrition 101', in the sense that it is general enough to cover
everything
but specific enough to be the only book on nutrition you'll
need
. I really feel empowered and in control now, capable of
feeding
my family well. I originally rented this book
from
the library, but it was so informative I am going to buy it.

Feed my family better - New Year's Resolution for 2005
This
book
was very informative and easy to read. I gained a lot of insight into how our bodies work with the nutrients we give them, as well as learning all
about
good fats vs. bad fats, not to be worried about my picky eater toddler, and the importance of setting up good eating habits for my
children
while they're
you
ng.
The only difficulty I had with this book was in the great side-bar tidbits of information, they sometimes got me distracted
from
the main thread I was reading, and it was hard to find my place again sometimes.
I was at a seminar with Dr. Sears as the speaker on
family
nutrition
, which prompted the purchase of this book, and I don't regret either the purchase or my New Year's Resolution to feed my family healthier.

Excellent Book- A must have for every parent!
This
book
absolutely changed my life. Our eating habits as a
family
have been completely changed forever. Thank
you

My favorite nutrition book
Nutrition
is like religion. People have fervent beliefs, and they tend to think that theirs is the only right way. This surprisingly prevalent attitude makes it difficult to find a good, non-dogmatic
book
on the subject. The
Family
Nutrition Book is my favorite of the books I have found so far. It doesn't seem to be written
from
any one religious standpoint, it gives an excellent breakdown of what nutrients the human body
need
s, with detailed yet easy-to-read explanations, and it even gives concise, easy-to-follow lists of the healthiest and least healthy foods for
children
and adults alike. I'm a nutrition agnostic and this approach works really well for me, so I recommend it.

Helpful, but not what I was looking for
This
book
has a ton of comprehensive information on nutrients but I bought it thinking it would help me
know
what to feed my 9-month old at each stage of his development. All I would call this is a
nutrition
textbook. It's good to have on hand, but if
you
're looking for guidelines on what foods are safe and offer proper nutrition for young babies and toddlers, keep looking.
