Comprehensive masterpiece

An excellent linear account of an artistic movement presented only in interviews with many of the big names as well as countless forgotten ones, no editorializing by the authors. This is about the development of east coast (from Detroit east) punk and the subsequent interpretation by UK punks and then the back and forth. covers an amazing amount of ground. I'm from NYC, a musician still here and playing, but these were never my favorite punk groups. Nevertheless this book filled in all kinds of gaps in my understanding of how this art form came to be, and makes me want to check out these early punkers again. Really great read and very hard to put down. check it.
