The Scarlet Thread
Truly enjoyed this realistic story about everyday life. It kept my interest throught out the book. It truthfully tells of the difficulty people face in their marriage and the road they chose to follow.
A testament of God's love
Francine Rivers writes such beautiful books that testify to the love of God. So far this book is one of my favorites. I love the fact that it tells two stories, one with the journal and one in modern times. An all time must read!
An incredible book!
I just loved this book! It's so good to read about passion in marriage and God's ability to redeme any situation.
Although it's well worth 5 stars, I have one complaint: The ending is a little contrived. I won't give away the ending. But the way the characters were talking about their faith at the end (especially the wife) seemed out of character. It seemed as though all the sudden the characters left and the author began sermonizing. I agree with her beliefs. It just seemed a stretch to hear either the wife or husband all of the sudden become such mature Christians.

Hmmmmmm
I'm still digesting this novel having finished it this morning. It was two very good stories intertwined but at times I found myself wanting to skip over one story so that I could continue with the other story. It also ended kind of abruptly. However, it is another success by Francine Rivers considering I couldn't put it down. She has a very natural flow to her writing and it is very easy to sit and read for hours and not know the time has passed!
Hard To Put Down...
I have read three of Francine River's books. I liked each one more than the one before. I consider myself a fan of her writing. I enjoyed the story that she told in

. It was a hard book to put down because there were 2 stories entwined in one book, I had trouble deciding which story I enjoyed the most; the diary entries or the present day. I like how she deals with real problems and real pain. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and have already passed my copy on to a friend!
