Excellent outline for a sane government.

A well-written revelation about truth, or rather lack of truth, in the government process. I feel it should be required reading before our elections come about.

Broken Government In Need of Repair

No one has ever accused me of being particularly savvy on government and politics, but that's about to change now that I've read John Dean's Broken Government. Clearly written, exhaustively researched and documented, this book should be required reading for anyone who votes.

Informative recent Republican Party history.

Interesting behind the veil history of the overall plan for control of the U.S.A. post the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The author illustrates for the reader The Plan for resumption of conservative control of America's economic and social controls - Laws passed since the Great Depression. I wonder how many Americans know that after the "Stock Market Crash" of 1929, that our past Congress imposed a 75% Income Tax on those responsible, our economic elites. Speculation then...speculation again. This is the overall expose' of this book, modern version.

Perhaps someday, someone will finally come forward and describe for the Public how much money was raised through the State's collective Appellate processes for the "Republicans to Re-elect Richard Nixon" Committee. Ah well, we are getting closer and closer to the Truth of our nation's last 60 years.

Good book, contains well cited, verifiable truths. Surprising that one who was one of those committed to The Plan, is one of the few whose conscious has placed demands upon Mr. Dean's being to make restitution for mistakes of Honor lost.

5 on Republicans, Zero on Democrats

I normally do not read books by past senior Executive officials because they tend to be self-serving, very selective with the truth, and not as objective as one might wish. As Senator Barack Obama learned the other night, trying to defeat other contenders while using their old advisers is a poison pill.

However, I have to give the author credit, and connect this book to other books that are helpful, in two areas sorely missing in action from this book: the Republican war on everything (I am an estranged moderate Republican leaning now toward Libertarian), and the equally obscene failure of the Democrats in Congress. Nancy Pelosi is a door-mat, and she will loose to Cindy Sheehan in 2008 because Sheehan has integrity and Pelosi does not.

See these other books (with reviews) for a more balanced perspective:

Weapons of Mass Deception: The Uses of Propaganda in Bush's War on Iraq
9/11 Synthetic Terror: Made in USA, Fourth Edition
Running on Empty: How the Democratic and Republican Parties Are Bankrupting Our Future and What Americans Can Do About It
The Broken Branch: How Congress Is Failing America and How to Get It Back on Track (Institutions of American Democracy)
Breach of Trust: How Washington Turns Outsiders Into Insiders

Day of Reckoning: How Hubris, Ideology, and Greed Are Tearing America Apart
The Sorrows of Empire: Militarism, Secrecy, and the End of the Republic (The American Empire Project)
Rogue Nation: American Unilateralism and the Failure of Good Intentions

There is good news. Dick Cheney has been the "enema of the Republic" and 100 million American voters (new young and returning older) will come together in November 2008 to flush the two parties down the toilet where they belong.
