Offers many solutions to common ailments

This is an excellent book on the subject of acid/alkaline balance in the body. The author obviously has many case studies and experience to draw on in dealing with patients using the "alkalizing" cure. The chapters deal with different ailments and provide remedies for each. Best of all, she's not trying to market her own line of nutritional products throughout the book. There are dozens of recommended supplements, foods and other products, and a list of where to obtain them. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a cure, not for the symptoms but for the disease. Any student of natural health needs this book on the bookshelf. Especially nice is how some folk remedies are explained so that you understand how they actually function in the body. By the way, I took the niacin test and I'm a meat eater, not surprising for a Blood Type O.

A Book Worth Reading - Interesing and Useful

First, I take issue with alarmist generalizations in the "Buyer Beware: Raw Meat Kills" review. It looks as if the reviewer hasn't read the book. If he or she had read it, they'd have seen it is well-researched and well-reasoned. Who needs more scare tactics these days?
My main point is how good the Acid Alkaline Balance Diet book is. I've wondered about acidic wastes and how harmful they are to one's health, but I'd not read about this before. The range of illnesses the book covers is impressive. It also explains things in a way that makes sophisticated material easy to understand. It's interesting. I also appreciate --and will use -- its down-to-earth suggestions to pursue my own greater health and well-being. Thank you, Ms. Drury Kliment.

Superficial reviews are unfair to readers

This is a good and useful book. I recommend readers see for themselves -- and don't believe reviewers who are over-excited by the word "raw". They've got the wrong end of the stick.

For example, one such reviewer swipes the book for recommending raw milk. The book doesn't do this. It says to look for organic milk that's pasteurized (140 degrees F) but not boiled (212 degrees F). Pasteurized organic milk is not raw milk. See pages 23, 24.

This was a very interesting book about our bodies and how what we put into it effects us.
