Just what I needed
This is the first book by Mary Kay Andrews I've read, and I enjoyed every page of it. It was a light, fun, easy read, which is something I've been having trouble finding. Usually I get bored really quickly and therefore read just a couple chapters before I give up on a book, but this one held my attention, and I found it difficult to put down. I'm in my ninth month of pregnancy, and have been feeling a little overwhelmed - this book gave me something to look forward to and was a nice escape from reality!
Very Cute
I LOVE Mary Kay Andrews's books, but I have to admit this one took me a little longer to really get into. Maybe it's because I'm not too into cooking, but it seemed to start out a little slow.
The story is about two Georgia locals who have they're own version of a local cooking show. There is an opportunity of a huge cooking channel show and one of the two will be rewarded it. In order to choose between the two, the network sets up a "food fight" three show edition. They take the two to a Georgia Island and let them duke it out culinary style. Once they get to the island, the story really picks up and it becomes really cute and entertaining. I was definitely not disappointed!

I liked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I have read all of Mary Kay's books and after reading the reviews on this one, I was expecting NOT to like it but I was surprised. I did enjoy it. I don't think the dialogue was as laugh out loud as some of the others but it was a quick and good read.
Easy read
I always check the reviews on Amazon before I read a book. I was surprised when I saw all of the 1's and 2's for

. I have read lots of other MKA's books and liked all of them. So, I got this one. I'm really glad that I did because I enjoyed this book immensely. It was easy to read, even though predictable, it was entertaining. Yes, I knew that the boy would get the girl but the journey was really fun. It was a light, easy read that "takes you away" for awhile. Just what I needed!

Fun, light read
Gina Foxton has a local cooking show and a producer who is her ex-fiance. Suddenly she finds herself in competition for a nationally-televised show with Tate Moody, a fellow southerner who is also being considered for the show. They are taken to a remote island where they are given a series of challenges on a reality tv show which chronicles the competition. Mary Kay Andrews

es up another delightful Southern romance with a feisty heroine in this book. The ending is pretty predictable but getting there is a lot of fun, and Andrews' fans will enjoy the trip.
