A Favorite at Bedtime

My 3 year-old son got this book for Christmas, and we have read it every night since. He even "reads" it by himself... I catch him saying, "Wooo-wooo!" while turning the pages. Just like him, the train has to go to sleep after a long day. This is a wonderful story, the pictures are colorful, the pages are heavy and easy to turn, and it's perfect for a preschooler... especially if, like my son, they love trains.

Great Book

I purchased this book for my son as I was already familiar with it through a daycare I worked at. The author's words press on like a train with the rhythm and the rhyme. My son loves this book (as he loves trains also!)

Perfect for emerging readers and train lovers, alike

My twins love this book because of its wonderful rhythm, rhyme, and repetition. The pictures introduce children to many different items and allow them to practice identifying things in later readings--and, trust me, there will be many more readings of this book! This is a perfect bedtime or naptime book as the train gets tucked into his little boy's bed for the night, but it's great fun at all hours of the day at my house.

Obsessed

My 21-month-old is completely obsessed with this book and with anything that has to do with trains. He also really likes the book My Truck is Stuck by the same author/artist duo.

recommended for 2 years and under

This board book is short and sweet. The rhyming text is simplistic and illustrations are very good. It tells a tale of a train and ends with a goodnight "lullaby". I believe this book to be to "immature" for children 3 and over.
