PCE Student Review

Peter and the Starcatchers is a book about an orphan, Peter, and his friends who go on an adventure. The orphanage is sending them on a ship, The Never Land, to serve as slaves for
King Zarboff. Peter meets a rich young girl, Molly, on the ship. Peter finds out that there is a mysterious trunk on the
ship. Pirates want to find out what is in this special trunk too. The story takes place on a ship and then on Mollusk Island, where Peter meets many new characters and has many more adventures. Will he find out what is in the trunk? This book has interesting characters and a lot of danger, action, and mystery, and adventure. It is the first book over 400 pages long that I've wanted to keep reading to find out what happens next. Kids 10-15 would like this book.

PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS

Pirates, crocodiles, shipwrecks, orphans, mermaids, and fairies. These are a few of the components that make PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS by Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry a fantastic novel for the old and young alike.

In this prequel to the classic PETER PAN story, the book is a constant adventure and filled with surprises from beginning to end. Peter and four of his friends from the orphanage are put on a ship, The Neverland, where they will be sent to an island ruled by the wicked King Zarboff and forced to work as slaves. Peter, the leader of the boys, does not even know his own birthday, let alone his last name, but is always the oldest boy. Peter wants to find an escape for him and his orphan friends, but when he finds a magical crate upon the ship and befriends a girl with extraordinary abilities, Peter becomes curious and the adventure begins. When the vicious Black Stache, captain of the Sea Devil, hears of the greatest treasure on the sea, sailing with The Neverland, he makes it his goal to find and capture the treasure. The two ships battle in the midst of a violent storm that causes the ships to land on a deserted island where many more surprises are to come.

This is a great read for anybody who enjoys adventure and every page filled with suspense. The book is well written and hard to put down. Other books in this series are PETER AND THE SHADOWTHIEVES and PETER AND THE SECRET OF RUNDOON.

AWSEOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read this book and it is an exciting adventure about an orphan boy who loads the Never Land. It is a wonderful book and you should read it!!!

Baby breath of magic

when I first saw Peter and the Starcatchers sitting on the shelf I was nothing less than disgusted. But time and time again when I asked for reccomendations I was told I would enjoy this book, and I did... somewhat. For one thing it is not 100% accurate in some of the smaller details, details that make the original story delightfully dark. But then again it still has elements of darkness. All in all I liked the book but it was not GREAT just good. I'm hoping the other two books pull it together.

One thing I did approve of is that it shows Peter's beginning of a legend, and while the beginning isn't as epic as the story, I could plainly see how Peter Pan began. and after all, we all know Peter don't we.

Welcome to Disney Land!

Oh, wait, I mean Neverland! This book, written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, is based on the Peter Pan movie by Disney and not on the original book by Sir James Barrie. So if you are a fan of the cartoon you will love it. But if you are a fan of the original Peter Pan, with Hook having the hook on the correct hand, the right hand, you will not be too happy with this book. They try to explain everything. From the fairies to the mermaids. They kind of suck out all the magic. Because I am use to the book version, the version I love, many of the characters seem off.
