This season is very emotional.

This season is very emotional. You get a hint of dark magic and its capabilities. I like to believe that the magics are paralleled to a drug addiction, or really, any sort of addiction.
There is no huge "Big Bad" like a God or anything but the characters get more involved and not so much two dimensional anymore.
Plus, everyone loves Spike who plays a main part in this season.

Buffy season 6

I know that a lot of people don't enjoy Buffy season 6 for some reason, but I love it. I think that there's a lot of character growth and development with Buffy, Willow & Spike; plus, this season has the musical episode, "Once More With Feeling". The special features on the DVDs are great, and I've greatly enjoyed owning it.

Buffy Rocks My Socks

I have nothing bad to say about Buffy every season brings me back wanting more of the blonde haired demon slayer.

Season 6

After having seen all 7 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I have to say that season 6 was a little disappointing, and I think most fans of the show will agree. Before I give my honest review, I feel just a little retrospective look at season 6 is needed.

The storyline of season 6 begins with the scoobie-gang having to adjust to life without Buffy, until Willow becomes fearful that Buffy's death may not have been the end of her life, but that now her soul might be trapped in some terrible hell dimension like Angel's soul was trapped at the end of Season 2. Therefore Willow (and the rest of the gang) unable to accept this as a possibility for Buffy's fate decide it's time to bring her back to life. Willow and Tara decide to work the magical mojo with the help of Anya and Xander. In the end of Episode 2 Buffy is finally resurrected.

As the storyline progresses through the season each member of the group must come to terms with his/her own feelings and personal problems. This is truly the "Big bad" of Season 6, even though the trio of Warren, Johnathan, and Andrew are also rivals Buffy and the scooby gang must deal with from time to time.

Personally, I feel the storyline went to a few dark places that I wished it wouldn't have, and I felt the storyline was a bit self-pittying for all the scoobies. I also feel that the storyline between Buffy and Spike took a turn for the worse, not because they finally ended up sleeping together, but because it was simply so superficial and degrading. In the end, Buffy was only using Spike because she wanted to "feel" something......anything. Spike of course was in it not only for the sex, but because he actually cared about Buffy. This was somewhat harsh to swallow though because of the way we watched her treat him in return.

For those of you who feel Spike was only evil before he got his soul back, and that he never cared about Buffy, I will simply remind you of how Spike chose to suffer extreme torture at Glory's hands rather than giving up Dawn due to fear of how it would hurt Buffy. If he didn't care, he wouldn't of done that.

I also feel that the witchcraft addiction for Willow went a little too far, and it seemed like it was very similar to a drug addiction rather than an addiction to magic. I don't know if this was Joss's idea to include this in the script, or someone elses, but I think this was a bit of a dark turn for Willow's character. I remember that Joss and the crew stated that when they first began the series they decided to use monsters and supernatural termoil as a way to parallel the pressures of life for teens in high school within the series so that the fans could "relate" to the problems the scooby's faced in some way. I don't know if this is what they were trying to accomplish with Willow's magic addiction or not, but I think it was a bit of a bad move, and probably appealed to the wrong audience. The only positive note I can say about it is when Willow lost control, and the magic took her over we got to see some real serious action that gave the series a little flavor.

As for Xander and Anya's relationship going out the window, well, thats life, and stuff like that actually happens. I feel the selfish side of both characters was revealed, and although it wasn't the highlight of the season for me, still, it was a nice touch.

Personally, I feel the biggest highlight of the season was at the very end of the season when Spike got his soul back. Many fans have stated they foreseen this comming, and sure enough, they were correct. Joss has stated that they intended for Spike to get his soul back from the very start of Season 6, and they hinted at this the whole time through the season, such as when Xander stated "You let that souless thing touch you", or the numerous times Buffy ridiculed him for not having a soul. Spike's having recieved his soul again played an important role in the final Season of Buffy, and even continued to play an important part of the final Season of Angel (Season 5). Thus, I think Spike getting his soul back was a great idea.

In conclusion, I feel that Season 6 was good, but it had quite a few episodes and scenes that I could live without seeing again. I gave Season 6 4 stars, and it only recieves that high of a rating because of the few good points to the season, such as Big Bad Willow, Spike getting his soul Back, Buffy comming back from the dead, and how well the events of Season 6 set the stage for the start of Season 7, which was a better season than Season 6 in my honest opinion.

Does anyone really not know about this show?

It's been around for years-original run and syndication, so what's left to say?
Great combination of action with comedy relief, definitely never taking itself to seriously.
