An A+ novel

Driver's Ed by Caroline B. Cooney is an excellent teen book. It's about three kids getting through their high school years. Remy,Morgan and Nickie are three kids that get into some serious trouble when they decided to participate in a class game. Remy and Morgan are in drivers ed class, just learning the basics of the road. One day one of the kids in the class says that everyone should take a street sign as a drivers ed game. Remy, Lark (Remys best friend), Morgan (Remys dream boyfriend) and Nickie (the only one of the four with a license and a car) decide to take on the game. On the night the four plan on taking the signs Lark says her mom is getting the flu and she has to take care of her, but asks the other three to pick up the street sign Thickly Settled for her. The three teens get a Morgan Road, Thickly Settled and a stop sign. This was all just harmless fun until a horrible, very horrible thing happens and they have to try and deal with the guilt of commiting a serious crime and trying to hide it, what else could they do?

I throughly enjoyed this book. I could really relate (being a high school student myself) to the pressure of school and trying to fit in as the characters in the book did. I thought Caroline B. Cooney did a great job making the book realistic. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time and keeps you wanting to turn the page. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes suspensful novels and realistic writing.

this book was okay

hello everybody. i just finished reading driver's ed not to long ago. it is a pretty good book. caroline b. cooney didnt' do too badly but i do like other books better. what i thought was missing in this book was her excitment. nothing really big happend the whole time. i was waiting for something really big to happen like in most of her other books but nothing big ever did happen. all that happened was morgan, and remy, and the other guy stole signs. one of them was a stop sign. then a woman named denise thompson went throught that interesction without stopping because there was no stop sign and she was killed. all the happened during the whole book was remy and morgan worrying about this. they worried a lot. of course they would worry but they worried too much. they finally tell their parents and their parents freak out. it is a good book but it is lacking her enthusiasm. i would still read it again and even buy it but first read wanted! and hush little baby. they are really really good.

Original and thought-provoking

Drivers Ed: It's a fun teen book, especially for those drivers-in-training. Like all Cooney's works, this book describes teenage life perfectly in a witty, sensational way. The characters are likeable, even those you love to hate. It's also a rather sad story, not quite tear-jerking in my experience, but the lump-in-your-throat kind. It makes you think, to remember why things are the way they are, and to understand how one little mistake can blow up severely. A four-to-five star book, I would say, having read it three times. The only complaint I have is that I would have liked to see more of Remy and Morgan's romance, but considering the circumstances of the book, I understand why she wrote it the way she did.

Good--But Not Cooney's Best

I just finish reading this book a few minutes ago and I must say that it was good. However, it was not Cooney's best but I think that it had a good moral and a good ending. I really wish there was a sequel, but unfortunately there isn't.
This book is basically about a girl named Remy who falls in love with a guy named Morgan (which happens to be my first name) and they start talking and then, along with this guy named Nickie they steal a stop sign. It's not long after when they see that someone was killed at the same place where they stole the stop sign. It's really devastating for them and they don't know if they should tell or not. Eventually they do and Nickie, the one who picked out the sign and drove them to the sign denies ever even being a part of the situation. Once Morgan and Remy have told on themselves, the husband of the lady killed gets real mad and starts talking about how he wants to kill them. The end ends strangely but I think it was good. The only thing that made me mad was that Nickie never go caught and Morgan's mom, Mrs. Campbell was so evil.
Overall, I think you should read the book. It's a good lesson on responsibility and love.

Driver's Ed

I really enjoyed reading Driver's Ed. It was a great book about finding forgiveness for yourself. It also told teens that they should think about the consequences of their actions before doing something they know is wrong. All in all, this book had a very deep, powerful story that really makes you think about things. I usually lean toward liking fantasy and adventure action books which is why I didn't enjoy this book too much.
