Loved it. Over and over again.
Okay, it's a bit corny. But folks, get real. That's pretty much what holiday novellas ARE. Look at it for what it is; a tender love story about two people who really love each other with faults acknowledged and lived with. Jules' jealousy is a counterpoint to Robin's alcoholism. Both are lingering, ongoing, dealt with in real ways. Just as rehab didn't cure Robin or stop his daily struggles, no single event/realization is going to end Jules' jealousy. As Sam said, Jules is hard-wired for jealousy.
What is fun is that this is a real story about two guys who love each other. Not platonically, not running or hiding, but open, sexual and in the sunlight. Readers who might not otherwise encounter gay couples find themselves really liking these guys, sharing Jones' and Sam's personal growth in accepting these guys and yes, loving them. If one knee-jerk response to gay marriage is mitigated by this story, that's great.
Me? I've read it probably half a dozen times, over and over, just to be with the whole gang of
Troubleshooter
s, Sam and Alyssa, Jones and Molly, Max and Gina, Jules and Robin. I'm still sorry when I near the end of the
book
, because I'm leaving them again, and want to know how they're doing. I'm glad Brockmann introduced a gay SEAL; the world needs more successful and tough guys, gay or not. We need to see guys like Sam and Jones and the SEALS of Team Sixteen accept Jules and Robin as they are, just as J&R accept Sam and the guys. We need to meet people and characters who we care about as people first and last, and whose sexuality is not the sum total of their personal and professional identities. That's what Jules gives us, and why we care about him.

Jules & Robin Forever
This
book
is fabulous!!
For lovers of the
Troubleshooter
s series, this story is the most perfect
Christmas
gift Suzanne Brockmann could have given us. Jules is one of the most beloved characters in the
troubleshooters
world, and as much as I loved "Force of Nature", I was very disappointed because it looked like Jules was not going to get his own book. Enter "All
Through
the
Night
"!
This book is not as intense as the other Troubleshooters books, but I thought it was nice to get a break from the nonstop action & suspense. It was wonderful to see Jules & Robin enjoying their relationship, and still making mistakes and learning how to function as a couple.
One of the best things about this book is the dialogue. It is smart & at times had me laughing out loud. It is also well worth it to listen to the audio version of this book. I had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne at a book signing. She told me that the man who recorded the audio (Michael Holland) is the man she pictured as Jules. After listening to the audio for about 5 minutes I thought to myself "Wow! That really is Jules!"
Although readers who do not know this series will enjoy the book, if you do know the characters from past stories the book is so much more fullfilling. As always, I anxiously await the next instalment.

What I liked...
Finally, Jules and Robin take center stage in this charming novella. Other reviews have rehashed the plot, so let me say what I remember most about this
book
, after listening to the audio version three times while toodling around town in my car. In most romantic relationships, there comes a time when a deeper level of honesty is required to prevent problems from growing and going underground. In all Suze Brockmann's Navy Seal books, her heroes are alpha men who eventually have the guts to communicate at that level of honesty with the women they love. "Listening" to two men who romantically love each other do the same thing was satisfying and instructive. Love is love, and I enjoyed the romance between these two. Here's hoping that Suze keeps Jules as a major character in upcoming books, even though he has moved to Boston.

Believe Agein In Love
I have been in love with Suzanne Brockmann since I read her first Navy SEALS
book
. She is the unquestionable master of the Military ALPHA hero but more, she gives those men emotions and souls - something many an Alpha Male will rarely show to anyone.
Suzanne also has a heart and a conscience. She understands what it is to love "in the shadows", to be a social outcast because of who your heart leads you to love and she has dedicated the proceeds from this book to keep marriage available to everyone in Massachusettes despite the attempt by those who have no concept of love to end the freedom that exists there now.
But that is not the reason to buy this book. The reason is two-fold, at least for me. The first is that it is a great story that brings back some of my favorite characters from her previous books (especially Blue) and for the first time, a major romance author has dared to tell a story of same-sex love in a way that anyone, and I mean ANYONE, can understand it.
Run, buy! Lots of copies because you're going to want to give them to your friends.
I still love Suzanne. Long may she write and keep telling all of us these wonderful stories. All

Nice Catch Up...
I'm a big fan of Suzanne Brockmann's
Troubleshooter
series. To me, her earlier work was much better, more action and suspense, along with the love story. I also liked how in her previous
book
s she incorporated a World War II story line.
If you've gotten as far as reading reviews, you know that this book is about Jules and Robin's wedding, and the events leading up to it. Most her previous characters make an appearance in the book, even if just a cameo. I particularly enjoyed catching up with everyone, their children and finding out which characters were expecting new arrivals. This part alone brought it up to four stars for me from three. Sam and Alyssa are awesome together as usual.
I like the character of Jules, and his homosexuality isn't an issue for me. But, that said, I'm getting a little tired of it. Force of Nature was dedicated to Jules and Robin, as is this book. Enough already, let's move on. Jules seemed a lot more insecure in this book, and his jealousy started to get old.
I hope Ms. Brockmann gets back to the action, suspense and adventure these books are known for. I thought we'd get a taste of it in this one, when Jules and Max were in Afghanistan and trapped in a shoot out with insurgents, but all of a sudden the calvary arrived and it was over.
I understand the author's passion for gay rights. But as I said before, enough already, let's move on. This book was written so that she could donate all proceeds to MassEquality, an organization dedicated to preserving the right of gay marriage in Massachusetts. Ms. Brockmann has more than covered her passion, I look forward to seeing if she can get back to the quality of her previous Troubleshooter books.
