Jim Dale is fabulous

Read one of the other reviews for the story itself, but Jim Dale is a fabulous narrator. He brings stories to life like no other narrator I've found. He was absolutely wonderful reading the 7 Harry Potter books and is equally great here. Check it out!

Peter and the Starcatchers Review

Do you like books that you can never out down? If you do this book is definetly for you. PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS is an action-packed book taking place in a ship called the Never Land during the 1700's which travels out to sea. Peter and four other orphans board the ship and meet Molly the daughter of a British ambassador. The captain Captain Black Stache is not the jolly good fello and knows there is a treasure on board and he wants to find it. Later Peter and Molly become friends and Peter finds out that Molly and her father are members of a secret group called the Starcatchers. This group prevent evil from getting their hands on a special substance called starstuff which is a powder that falls from stars and changes the complexion of everything it touches. They later then find this substance and must protect the treasure. Due to storms and shipreck everyone on the ship lands on an island. Peter, Molly and the orphans have the treasure and have to protect it from the pirates and the infuriated indian natives. During the book the Peter and Molly become friends and work together to try to proect the magical treasure. I would say that during the book Peter and Molly become more cooperative and brave while Captain Black Stache is always evil. My opinion of this book is the plot moved to fast and you could not learn much about the characters but it was very hard to put down. I would encourage for readers from the age of 10-16 that like Fiction/ Fantasy to read this. This book was magical with happiness and sadness I liked it and many readers would enjoy it. I hope when your at the end of the book you will say "That was lovely"

Whoa!!

If you want a great action filled book this is the one for you. This was by far my most favorite book that I have ever read. Between the fighting and the fantasy you will love it from begining to end. My opinion was that the ship raids were exiting but the island was the best part. But my opinion was that if your up for a 451 page book this is the one for you.

mystery solved

This is truly an adventurous, enjoyable explanation for how Peter Pan came to be. There are surprising twists mixed in with new characters and a lot of humor. Peter has an attitude that carries him far to fight off the "Captain Hook" character. I highly recommend this for an exciting read that you won't want to put down.

Piratey Goodness!

This is a perfect book for junior high school boys, which is perhaps why I thoroughly enjoyed it (though my sixth grade daughter loves it and its sequels as well). When Pearson's daughter asked him about the origins of Peter Pan, he somehow roped Barry into writing a three volume collaborative answer.

It's not for Barrie purists, as this Peter is a bit more mature than the original and the pre-amputation Captain Hook (then known as Black 'Stache) is much less foppish and 100% menacing.

That said, the book is a fun piratey frolic that kept me up into the wee hours of the morning.
