Schools should use this instead of The Trail Guide/Biel
I love this book. One of the best things about it is that instead of pen and ink drawings (like the Biel book) it has color drawings on top of real photos of people. I find this much more understandable and can quickly implement
massage
techniques it recommends for the particular muscle it is illustrating. Glad I bought it!
Well-written, easy to learn from.
This book has great
anatomy
info. It shows all of what you need to know as far as muscle actions, innervations, etc.
I also agree with previous reviewers that this is a good reference for the National
Massage
Board Exam (National Certification Exam). My other recommendations include;
Mosby's Pathology for Massage Therapists by Salvo
This book is just great for learning the needed pathology for the massage national board exam
The Ultimate Study Guide for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and
Bodywork
: Key Review Questions and Answers by Patrick Leonardi
This one comes in three volumes.
These three volumes had so many great review questions that
guided me in the right direction on what to know.

A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY MASSAGE THERAPIST!
Excellent material, techniques and pictures. I browse through it every night and still find new info that I missed the first time through. Awesome book!
my favorite anatomy book.
Coming from a Physical
Therapy
background and entering into
Massage
Therapy, I have a whole LOT of
anatomy
and ortho books. This is one of the best and I use it all the time. It helps the reader to visualize the actual structures underneath the exterior body part. Well worth the money and essential for any anatomy/ortho library.
Brilliant Anatomy
Brilliant work on presenting
anatomy
in conjunction with
massage
. The drawing of the muscle on the model's body allows us to visualize where is the muscle located. The only complaint is that many of the techniques use thumb.
