My Humor Bible

I keep a tally--I have read this book 47 times from back to front. It is the funniest tale I have ever read, and I am constantly lending it to my grown friends so that they can share in the cynicism that is Rudy Miller. It is my humor bible. My book is starting to fall apart, though. Definitely worth reading!

Best Childrens Book EVER!!!

I first came across this book in the 6th grade, when my teacher read it to our class.. It kept our attention, it moved along swiftly and was the funniest book ever. I remembered it years later and when i had the chance to come across it in used book stores I bought it, to this day (I'm almost 27 right now!) I still find it one of the best books i've ever gotten to read. I just finished reading it again for the zillionth time and i don't mind admitting i loved it even more. I realize people think it's silly for an adult to read such a book but i have to tell you that the story of Rudy Miller and Mike Webster (and who could forget Harold Greene?) at camp tickles my funny bone even now.

If you get the chance, don't let this one pass you by.

Rudy Miller For President

I read this book for the first time last year.... I can't say enough about the eternally endearing characters (some of the best GK ever created, although I'd prefer to think that ALL of them were based on real people);Rudy, with his scathing remarks and ability to anger ... with a well-placed comment;Mike,who would rather be on the rack than in camp without Rudy;Harold Greene, the archetypical jerk; Chip, the counselor on the verge of a nervous breakdown; the camp director,oblivious to reality...I love them all(weelll, perhaps not Harold).Those of you who know what ... is will be surprised by its bit role.

I Want to go Home!

This book would have to be one of the funniest books I've ever read. I first got into the book when I was 10. My teacher Mrs Inglis read the book to us. The day that we finished it and I got home I went strait to my computer and went to the amazon site to order my own copy only they were sold out. And I was not the only one in my class looking for the book oh no, about 10 oter class mates of mine said they tdid the exact same thing! Anyway I suggest that everyone should read it. I almost cracked one of my ribs with laughter or at least thats hw funny it was.

A classic!

I first read this book when I was 10 (I'm now 27), and I love it just as much now as I did then. In fact, this book started me collecting as many of Gordon's books as I could. GK has a gift for creating realistic characters and putting them in humorous situations without things getting silly. I have enjoyed all of his books that I've read, which either means he's really talented, or I'm REALLY immature.
