Who'd have known writing a resume would be so complex?

I am currently staying with my two daughters in Laurel, Maryland and recently attended a TSA Job Fair at Dulles Airport. I was encouraged to apply online right then and there for a job at Erie Airport. I did so and then realized that I was not prepared to immediately attach a FEDERAL RESUME. I was told by the TSA representative at the airport to send it via fax or email as soon as possible with the application number that I was given last Saturday after applying online.

When I asked my wife what a FEDERAL RESUME was, she told me that it was quite different than the one and two page resumes she has written for me. She told me that she had just received your book, THE FEDERAL RESUME GUIDEBOOK, in the mail and was amazed at how very informative and comprehensive it is. She is now awaiting the templates that she ordered, but warned me that this was not something she could whip up in a few hours. She suggested that I contact you and the impressive team of professionals at THE RESUME PLACE for some urgent help!

I am not sure that I can afford your services in my state of unemployment, but my wife said, after reading your book, that she was quite sure that I couldn't afford to be WITHOUT your professional help! I don't know if looking for a new career in government at my age is realistic, but I am determined to give it a try if you feel it is in the realm of possible.

Thanks for writing such a wonderful book. I wish I had read it 35 years ago!

Federal Resume Guidebook by Kathryn Kraemer Troutman

Kathryn Kraemer Troutman's "Federal Resume Guidebook" is a must have for anyone seeking a position within the Federal Government. Not only does Ms. Troutman review the steps and procedures necessary to obtain employment, but she assist users in the process. This book makes getting a Federal job a breeze. The books "user friendly" approach leaves little territory uncovered. Kudos to Kathy for making the job search much easier. Watch out Federal Government Kathryn's book may just make your forms much more palatable. A must have for those seeking employment within the Federal Government.

A good start...

This is a good book for putting together a government résumé, but it stops short of going through the entire government process. There is not adequate information on KSA writing and putting together a total government-ready package. For this level of material, the book nudges you toward using the publisher's consulting / writing service, which is on the expensive side depending on what positions you are going after.

Overall, it's a good book to get started with. You may need additional help down the road, though.
