Excellent pictures of Middle Earth

A great book. The paintings offer an incredible view into Tolkien's Middle-Earth, with portraits from his most popular books. They make you feel like you're there, especially Ted Nasmith's "The Balrog"

A must for Tolkien fans!

The book provides a rich dimension to the text version. I highly recommend it to anyone who has read, or is reading "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings". The paintings actually transport you to that world!

This is a very beautiful collection of paintings of Middle Earth. As I am currently reading the Trilogy to my children, I can honestly say that when we reach a part in the story that correlates with one of the paintings, then we all become that much more involved in Tolkein's story. The artwork itself stands alone, however. It really is a wonderful collection of paintings
