Eating Frogs!
I learned of this book from a friend who has the older version of it. I glanced through her copy and noticed her notes. She said you have got to
get
this, it will organize your life. I purchased the 2nd edition version, read the book through, then reread it marking the tasks
that
I feel will help me find the missing hours in a day, so things get accomplished, instead of brushed under the rug. Some
time
s it just seems to be amazing that it is end of the day, the week or even the month and it seems that nothing or not a whole lot seemed to be accomplished. I work in Direct Sales so it helps there also. It help me find the time to take care of the household, spend time with each family member and take care of their needs, and still be able to spend time with clients to be able to service them better allowing them to pass recommendations of me around. I also picked up his book Goals!, keeping them both close at hand so I can glance through and get that boost of energy again, with the "Yes I Can" attitude. "Eat That
Frog
", will get you out of
procrastinating
and working with goals, while "Goals!", will get you into setting goals, keeping them and accomplishing them, it is such a win-win!

Will help you deal with procrastination
Heard the CD version of EAT
THAT
FROG
!, written and read
by Brian Tracy . . . he's a well-respected author on such subjects
as personal and business success . . . and since I've benefited
from his teachings in the past, I looked forward to this program--in
large part because of its catchy title . . . I also liked the premise of
the subtitle; i.e., that I'd learn 21
GREAT
WAYS
TO
STOP
PROCRASTINATING
AND
GET
MORE
DONE
IN
LESS
TIME
.
So you're probably wondering like I was: What's the deal behind
eating a frog? (And why would anybody want to do that?) . . . Tracy
explanation makes a lot of sense . . . he contends that if you eat
a live frog the first thing in the morning, you can go through the
rest of your day with the satisfaction that the frog is the very worst
thing that's going to happen to you.
Much of the advice that follows has similar thinking . . . if you want
to deal with procrastination, just do the most important thing
first . . . you need to resist the temptation to do other tasks, even
though they may be more fun to complete . . . or you can complete
them in a relatively quick fashion.
I've heard much of what Tracy had to say, yet I kept thinking to myself
that even though that was the case, I needed as much reinforcement
as I could get . . . for example, he pointed out
* You need to do something every day to move you toward your goal.
* Every minute on planning saves as many as 20 minutes in
execution.
* To develop your career, continually ask: What's the one skill,
if learned, would have the greatest positive impact on my career?
* There's never enough time to do everything, but there's always
enough time to do the most important thing.
* Here's the core question of time management: What's the best
use of my time right now?
* Imagine yourself as having only one day before you go on vacation.
* Don't worry about changing your whole life; say, instead, "just for
today."
EAT THAT FROG! might not get you to stop procrastinating
forever . . . it will, however, help you get started . . . or as
Tracy points out, if that's your problem, just say to yourself,
"Do it now" . . . getting this program would be an excellent
first step!

Eat That Frog
Brian Tracy's "Eat
That
Frog
" is easy to read, understand and is very
inspirational. I will read and reread it.
Good, but nothing new
I've read about and taught
time
managemtn for over 20 years. The book reminds me strongly of Edwin Bliss's "
Get
ting Things
Done
". The chapters are consice and informative, but there really isn't anything new here. If you are looking for a book to help the disorganized, this will certainly help. However, if you are at all read in this field, you will find it a disappointment.
