A 1st Grade Teacher's Opinion

This book is very useful in setting up my Guided Reading program. It was one of the best books that I purchased for this program. It is geared more toward the actually usage of materials than to simply theory. I needed suggestions for actual activities rather simply theory. I would recommend this book to any teacher that is starting a Guided Reading program.

Great resource for new teachers

This book was a great resource for me to set up my work stations. As a new teacher I have so many things to think about all at once and it was great to have a guide that could help me with this part of my day! This book is full of wonderful information and would be a good addition to any teacher's collection of resource books.

Great Teacher Resource!

Loved this book! Great ideas for using Literacy Centers (or work stations as they're called here) in your classroom! Great suggestions that can be adapted K - 2. I will definitely refer back to this throughout the upcoming school year!

I love to keep students busy in the classroom. Diller's book includes a checklist of items to include in literacy stations as well as many photographs that inspire educators to set up these stations!

This book offers many great ideas that balance student-initiated activites and teacher-initiated activites. The activities also incorporate all aspects of literacy.
