Because so much of his work is lost or otherwise not in common circulation, a few of the reproductions here are smaller or from low-quality source materials but it's still nice to have them included. Most, though, are excellent. There are also some pencil studies, photos of the original models, and extensive biographical material.
Elvgren's craftmanship was superb and his subjects playful and undeniably nice to look at, even if not exactly "politically-correct" by today's standards.
An excellent compendium from a time when a glimpse of stocking-top was enough to get the pulse racing.
