Jon Stewart At His Finest

A collection of 11 of the funniest essays i have ever read. While some younger readers(At least those with poor knowledge of history) might not get some of the content there are still just purely funny essays. A Short must read.

Biting, Funny and Timely

Jon Stewart's view of the world is obviously jaded and appropriate. It is also obvious that he has to tone it down for the Daily Show. If you are someone who appreciates history, irony, and have a clue who Lenny Bruce is, then you will probably enjoy this book. If not, pass by it and go to the Harry Potter section.

Wickedly intelligent humor from one of today's major players

Stewart delivers some wickedly funny tales about the lives of famous people in this short book. One could read this cover-to-cover in one sitting, or leave it lying around to house to enjoy piecemeal. Do you need to know how to adequately furnish your womanly parts? Look to Martha Stewart. Are you bored with Judaism? Stewart tells you how to spice it up in the modern age. Wondering how Hanson spent Christmas? Look no further. Wondering how Hitler has re-invented himself? Read about his appearance on Larry King.

Stewart's essay collection was published in 1998, so some of the subjects are a bit dated. It is, however, fun to read Stewart in his formative years, before he and The Daily Show were complete household names.

Anyone who likes Stewart's brand of humor in which one must be fairly well-educated in politics, history, and current events in order to "get it" may also like stand-up comedian Eddie Izzard. I recommend Izzard DVD "Dress to Kill" as an intro for American viewers.
