Awesome little que

I have tried two other types of this size and allthough they lasted well and did a fair job of cooking they don't come close to what this little monster does. I am so impressed with the design, and even cooking qualities I can't say enough good. Just for fun I cooked grilled cheese sandwiches on the thing and they came out beautiful. The cooking times are a little bit longer but that just gives you more time for another gin.

Good Portable Gas Grill

I recently purchased this item and have used it on several occasions. It does a good job with meat & fish. Overall a good portable gas grill for the price. I use the Coleman 1 lb propane canisters and it doesn't use as much gas as I had expected and I cook only on high. For cooking I pre-heat the grill on high with the top on for 10 minutes, then I sprinkle a few hickory chips on the flavorizer bar and start grilling, keeping the top on. When I'm finished, I leave it on for another 10 minutes to burn off the residue on the grate and flavorizer bar. Things that need improvement (that are convenience factors, not cooking factors) are: the igniter is positioned at the far end of the grill from where the gas flow begins, therefore is is almost impossible to get it to light with the igniter and the Weber handles get too hot. I light mine with a butane lighter (with the grate & flavorizer bar removed so I can see if lighted) and I keep a hot pad handy for use on the handles. It also packs up into a neat package for transport. I would buy it again.

Just used it last week

Used this for the first time last week and was very pleased with the grill. It heated up quickly, did a good job cooking and was easy to clean up after use.

We used the grill camping with our family of four. I found out quickly the grill has a flavor rack (removable) under the grilling grate, overtop of the flame. Toss it out. As with most things "improved", it SLOWS the heat transfer to the grill. I guess it is supposed to provide an even heat and somehow make your hot dogs taste better (yea right). The little grill used with the small green propane bottles just cannot provide enough heat with the flavor rack, unless you have an hour to cook a few burgers. Once I tossed the rack, the grill performed much better. However, one side (the farthest away from the propane bottle) burns hotter. So what, so does my home grill. This not a grill for a family of four as the cooking area seemed small for us. If it is just for two, it is great. It cooked the turkey burgers and hot dogs fine and it cleaned up easy (we used PAM for grilling prior to use). When we packed the grill to come home it fold up and secured well. However, the gas regulator is always attached or maybe I am just to rock headed to figure out how to detach it every time (the clip is a pain). If I had to do it again I would get the Weber Baby Q. It cost$ more but it seems to fold up and pack better and looks like it is made for business. You get what you pay for, for 50.00 and 2 people this grill is fine, buy it, but toss that flavor bar out. The supplier I got it from was fast in delivery and I have no complaints.
