Beautiful cover, wonderful book!
I have read all 7 of her books. It is a tradition for me to read her newest release each year on vacation. I almost had to send it home with my mom, so I would read it. It was worth the wait! I would love to live in NY for one, but be able to have a beach home also. This is what Mellie has. I also would like a friend just like Kevin. This book has it all, and is a wonderful vacation read. I hope to get to read more about Mellie's current life oneday!
While reading this I looked up and saw a bird on a guy's shoulder~ How funny is that?
Can't wait till the Christmas Pearl - released Oct. 23 , and she is working on Bull's Is

The Land of Mango Sunsets
For all Dorothea Benton Frank fans, her newest novel doesn't disappoint. I always wonder if her unique characters are based on real persons in her life as they are so real, they jump off the pages. Will look forward to her next novel!

The Land of Mango Sunsets: A Novel
Life-changes challenge all of us, and in this novel about how people relate, the reader encounters some of the tragic, funny, and inspiring of those interactions. To steal a well-known phrase, "Things are not always what they seem." This is a story of a woman getting to know herself and those around her in a new way. I enjoyed it very much and it's an easy read.
Not enough Low County
I am a BIG Dottie Frank fan and I have enjoyed her other books. My book club has chosen several other books by her. However, I did not find the heroine in this book particularly endearing, especially in the person of Miriam. I thought the book began rather slowly and it wasn't until after "Mellie" began to evolve that I even began to enjoy the book. I appreciate the author's departure from the Low Country in order to focus on a story of renewal and return. However, I felt there was a rush in the end to just get the story completed. I was a little disappointed and feel that the story could have been better.
