Cute but not her best
I liked this one, but I liked the original better. Seemed like Lizzie was moving a bit too fast--wanting to get married at such a young age and wanting to get that serious when they had only been dating a couple of months. The subplots were funny though!
One of Cabot's best yet
Lizzie Nichols is back, pounding the NYC pavement and looking for a job, a place to live, and the her proper place in the universe.
Once more Lizzie's notoriously
big
mouth begins to get her in trouble at her new job and at home. What's a girl to do?
I loved this follow up to
QUEEN
OF
BABBLE
. Her last three YA books left little to desire but this book more than makes up for it. I totally could relate with Lizzie and all the trouble she gets into by opening her mouth.
Hilarious, fast paced, and sure to put a smile on your face. I can't wait for the next book.

Nice Easy Read.
This is a great book. If you have had a highly stressful day and need to relax, to put the troubles of your world behind you, this is the book! There is no thinking required here, just enjoy it. It is predictable and has the happy endings, but it suits the characters of this "
Queen
of
Babble
" series.
I can't wait for number three.
The first one was better
The first book was so funny I couldn't stop laughing when I read it. This one felt more like a cookie cutter redo of the first. It was still entertaining, but I found myself asking this question repeatedly: Does Meg cabbot really think twenty-something girls are this rediculous? Lizzie is an endearing character...to a point. This book shows her to be a little more annoying and a lot more frustrating to read. Wish she could stand up for herself a little better. She seems more like a high school heroine than a true adult...

Entertaining, but not as good as Ms. Cabot's other work...
I'm a
big
fan of Meg Cabot. When I first read The Boy Next Door, I recommended it to all my friends, heck I'm still recommending it to anyone who will listen. I love all her books in the Boy series and the Heather Wells series (Size 12 is Not Fat, etc). I'm just not so sure about the
Babble
series.
The cliff-hanger ending is uncharacteristic to Ms. Cabot's work (although there was a bit of a cliff-hanger in the latest Princess Diaries book), so I definitely want to see what happens next. Once I started skipping some of Lizzie's inner babbling in favor of the actual dialogue and descriptions, I enjoyed the book more. Maybe that's the secret - I babble too much on my own, so I needed to skip hers.
All in all, I would say if you enjoy Meg Cabot's other books, then this should be entertaining, but if you are unfamiliar with her work, I suggest you start with The Boy Next Door, Boy Meets Girl, Every Boys Got One or Size Twelve is Not Fat and Size 14 is Not Fat Either.
Happy reading.
