One of the best books that I have ever read - period.

This book is AWESOME!!!

Actually, it was recommended to me by a physicist friend and I'm not even finished but I love this book so much that I wanted to comment. As a person grounded in everyday business-world reality and someone who has a graduate degree in a practical thing like Management from MIT I find this book incredibly enlightening and intriguing. It may become my new bible. For those of you like me who think that science falls short in explaining so many things in this world from deja vu to coincidences to many aspects of the paranormal this book is for you. Talbot does a phenomenal job in connecting science with the spiritual realm using so many examples and references they of course can't be shared here. Even if you may doubt some of his bibliography as some of the reviewers here do - I still do believe that so many other examples will stand up to scrutiny. (I haven't had time to research the validity of Talbot's bibliography - but it is impressive and extensive nonetheless).

Just one of his ideas - that dreams are connections with the greater consciousness - the "infinite subway" is fascinating and the examples he provides in this section are enough to keep me wondering for years.

Anyhow - do yourself a favor - buy this book and spend an evening reading it. You'll be so glad you did.

The book that ushers in a new way to see reality

I read this book a few months ago and it left a very strong impression upon me. It is amazing that this book was written 15 years ago, with science that is at least 20 years old if not older. The most amazing thing is that the paradigm that the author is talking about through out this book is still far from becoming part of our culture and society. It is a shame that we with our western minds and egocentric thinking have neglected to tolerate or even accept a holographic model which is adopted as a common fact from more mature cultures than our own.
I believe that this book is necessary reading as we are in the early part of the 21st century. The great thing about this book is that it begins to force our culture on a whole to begin to shed away out newtonian mechanistic model that we apply to every discipline for a more dynamic and whole approach that appreciates the causes and effects that are possible on different planes of reality in which we only participate in a small part with our normal daily waking consciousness.
Another great part of this book is that it gives the western man/woman a glimpse of a reality far more real than our own and dictates that we can only evolve by our level of compassion, knowledge and service which is the great teaching distilled from all the Great Holy Masters. A must read.

What you only thought you knew

One of the most remarkable books I have read! Bringing most of what I already imagined into a new reality. For me this book has made me realize I'm not the only one out there that thinks beyond the simple, far beyond the visible and very deep into the imaginal. Note only is this book amazing, it opens up a vast vault of informational books for reading pleasures that would otherwise go undetected. Simply put it is "Mind Food"

Very intriguing book...

I'm very interested in alternative views/theories of the nature of reality and the universe. This book offers many new ideas and cites much research that has been done to support these ideas. If you are at all interested in information on these subjects, this book will give you much to think about. I'm almost done reading it now, have thoroughly enjoyed it and will likely read it again soon.

Thought Provoking

A concisely written, understandable account of the quantum theories of David Bohm, essentially that the old diddy, life is but a dream is absolutely true. Still, most of what he says is based on faith, and the book certainly bogs down as the author's exciting scientific account delves into parapsychology at which point it becomes hard to take serious. Overall, though, this lapse into maudlin supposition does not entirely detract from the clear way Mr. Talbot brings into expression the nature of the implicate order and its effect on reality.
