Renewed my faith in the Bible

At the time that I read the book, I was just about ready to throw the Bible away! I just could not justify my genuine belief that Christ "lived in me" and "In Christ there is neither male nor female" with the other things that were said in the Bible. I had been in an abusive church for many years that taught heavily on the scriptures of women's sub-servience to men and when I read this book, I cried and thanked God for the author that took the time to write it.

I recommend it to anyone, especially pastors and other men who feel that they are superior to women. And also to women who have been beaten down with the scriptures into feeling like they are second class citizens. Sincerely, Free At Last!

Orthodoxy never seemed so good!

As an ordained minister I have seen much of the pain that both men and women suffer because of misunderstandings of Paul's writings in the New Testament. One question confronts all Christians: if the New Testament says that women are not to teach and are to remain silent in the church, then how can women be ordained or serve in positions of congregational authority? John Bristow's book explains with responsible scholarship and Christian integrity what Paul really said about this and many other gender issues-- not what Paul's letters interpreted through a Greek philosophical mindset were misconstrued to mean. This book will answer questions you have wondered about all your life.

Treating Women as Men Themsleves Would Like To Be Treated

What Paul Really Said About Women is simply outstanding. As The Christians for Bibical Equality have brought out, much of the Scriptures that are yanked out of context to try and justify sexism towards women in the so-called name of the Bible are simply the very same Scriptures yanked in the South back in the 1800's to try and justfiy whites treating blacks and Native Americans as inferior. Women women do not want to be doormats but their church or organized religion frightens them into believing they must put up with being treated inferior in order to be pleasing to the Lord, Jesus Christ or Jehovah. This book shows how in much the same way the word "Hell" was translated where actually the meaning "Humankind's common grave" should have been...so too have translations taken the liberity to translate the Gree word "ARCHE" which means "Chief", "Leader" and "Ruler"/ "Have authorty over" and thus in English "HEAD"..where instead the Greek word "KEPHALE" which actaully denotes NO authority or superiorty in rank above another at all..but rather means "Self-less giver", "One who willing risks his life for others". After being enlightened on this, all should consider extanding the Golden Rule to ALL..meaning not just all races..but BOTH sexes, the animals and the earth itself. Imearthbound@hotmail.com

What Paul Really Said About Women

A must for all to read, not just Christians, but especially for Christian women to regain a positive attitude towards the Apostle Paul (in case one might not have had a positive attitude towards him due to the inaccurate translation of his writings concerning women and their place in the Church which made him appear to be either, at worse, a misogynist, or, at best, not "pro" women). This book sets the record straight and quiets my mind on this subject. Thank God!
