is written by Meg Cabot, author of the popular Princess Diaries Series. The book is about a girl named Mel Fuller. Mel's neighbor, Mrs. Friedlander gets in a coma and Mel ends up having to walk her dogs. Mel really doesn't want to so she contacts Mrs. Friedlander's nephew, Max. Max is on vacation with a super hot model and doesn't care about his aunt at all. He asks his friend, John, to pretend to be him so it looks like he cares about his aunt. John agrees only because Max saved his life when they were in college and John owed him a favor now. John moves into the apartment and meets Mel. This is where trouble begins. You'll just have to read it to find out what happens.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a classic love story. The whole book is complied with emails between Mel, her friends, and John. I think this book was amazing. It's really entertaining and could probably relate to many girls' life. The book is also filled with details about her thoughts about John and the rest of her friends. Anyone who enjoyed The Notebook would certainly enjoy this book.

Unclassified Love
The main character in this book is a 27 year old gossip columnist, named Mel, whose neighbor, Helen fell into a coma. Mel contacts her nephew, Max Friedlander to ask him to walk Helen's dog because she doesn't have enough time to do so. Max doesn't have enough either, so he asks his friend, who owes Max a favor, to pretend that he was Max and walk Helen's dog. His friend, John, reluctantly does the favor. As the story goes, Mel falls in with John, who she thinks is Max Friedlander, and John doesn't know how to tell her who he really is.
I liked this how this book had a sense of romance in it, because I love romance novels. I thought it was creative how the story was portrayed by e-mails. I loved how the story seemed so real, it felt like I was right there while I was reading it, and I loved how I could picture everything in my head as I was reading it.
I would recommend this book for any teenage girl, especially if you enjoy reading. If you like to read about everyday people, finding extraordinary love, I'm positive you would enjoy this book. You might also enjoy this book, if you enjoy books with a sense of humor. If you have read any other books written by Meg Cabot, or liked The Princess Diaries, movie or, read and liked the series, you would really enjoy reading this book.

The kind of story that never fails to entertain
At first i must admit i wasn't sure about this books layout
(e-mails)but it works really well and contributes to a funny and enjoyable story. Although the plot is not hard to guess, i found this an extremaly good read. It was quite a funny book in places and made me laugh out loud(especially because of the max/John problem). I really enjoy reading Meg Cabots books, and if you like this book i would recommend reading her other books. Definitely a fun, exciting and cleverly written book. A sweet, light hearted chick-lit that never fails to entertain, Enjoy your read!

Review of The Boy Next Door
At first, I thought that the all email text would become boring.
However, it was so charming and interesting, that I loved it.
A must for all emailers!
Laughing SO out loud!
I shouldn't be here b/c I'm only half way through the book. But I can't resist. I haven't read many chick lit books and pulled this one off my shelf on a whim. Well. I have been laughing so hard my son came running thinking I was sobbing(!). My husband just shakes his head at me. I love the e-mail format and I am completely cracked up over the mix-up of Max/John. I can't wait to see how this ends. Definitely breezy and fun and I am really impressed by the author and how funny this is. I think it's really difficult to write something so humorous!
