The Pact
"Let us embrace, and from this very moment vow an eternal misery together," a quote by Thomas Otway, appropriately begins this
story
of young
love
rs, giving us a concise glimpse of the plot. This is a story of a love so deep and intimate, that it is difficult to define the boundaries of the two individual personalities of the teens. Raised together since newborns, Chris and Emily grew up together, becoming lovers as teenagers. It was always expected that they would end up together. But when two individuals are so close, and the border separating them as individuals becomes blurred, could one ask too much of the other? Could one go too far in the sacrifice of oneself for the happiness of the other? These are some interesting questions that this story poses to the reader.
Ms Picoult has created some very intriguing characters here, ones that are real enough to provoke thought and emotion. The juxtaposition of the storyline with the past which ultimately led to it, creates a fervent tension. Unexpected twists in the plot are plentiful and intense. This book is more than entertainment. It presents some very potent questions to ponder.

Jodi Picoult does it again
A real page turner. Having read 19 minutes, some of the characters crossed over, I was just blown away. This is the
story
of what one person does for
love
. Would you be willing to die for love? Amazing and heart wrenching. Makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time. She will go down in history as one of the best writers of the 21st century
Truly Amazing
I only discovered this author a few months ago by happening to pick up My Sister's Keeper. I was then compelled to purchase every book Jodi Picoult has written. The
Pact
is touching and so real to life. I had a hard time putting this book down. The characters are believable and the test of family and friends is that to real life. I enjoy being pulled into the books I am reading and have the same emotions I would watching an Oscar winning movie. Kudos to Jodi, she is an amazing author.

Amazing story of love
This is the second book I have read from Picoult and have to say that she is an amazing author who has the ability to make a reader feel like they are directly involved with the
story
line. The ending was quite surprising and not what I had expected at all. A very touching tale of teenage
love
, heartache and of the lengths a person will go to for the one they love.
