very good book and ignorant poor blacks need to read it but they won't

I bought this book and i really enjoyed reading it. Bill Cosby spoke the truth about ignorant poor blacks and i agree with everything he said. I'm so tired of ignorant black men always laughing at and dissing positive blacks. I've been dissed most of my life by ignorant black men who aren't men because they act like boys. I've been dissed because i've always been quiet, i don't have any friends and i don't have a girlfriend. I like to read, listen to r&b and rap music, and watch tv shows and movies. I'm not really into socializing with people because most people only wanna get in your business and talk about you behind your back. I've been teased and laughed at by ignorant blacks at previous jobs i've had because of the way iam and that's not right. I've had to quit several jobs because of these ignorant blacks. I don't go to work to make friends with people and get in people's business. I go to work to do my job and go home.

Anyway getting back to the book, i think Cosby did a very good job giving poor ignorant blacks information on how they can make their lives better if they read and educate themselves. Unfortunately the sad thing is the people Bill is trying to reach, they won't purchase this book and read it because it's not important to them. Selling drugs, wearing baggy clothes, having lots of sex, not going to school, killing blacks and dissing blacks, listening to ignorant uneducated rappers is more important to ignorant poor blacks. Bill said some true stuff about black public schools. I think black public schools are a joke because most of the black kids at school aren't interested in learning and they only come there to diss positive kids who wanna learn and get into fights. This is a sad situation that will never end at black public schools. Bill does need to deal with reality about black public schools. Getting a education and reading is very important to having a good life but the good black kids that want a education can't learn in a environment that's terrible when they're constantly getting bullied and laughed at. This is a serious situation that needs to get dealt with by the principals of these bad schools. I suggest that the principals need to expel these bad ignorant kids from school so they can see how hard it is to survive on the streets when you have no education and the parents of these knuckleheads need to discipline their kids and whip their butts when they act up. If that happened more often, then these bad kids would change their ways. You got a lot of terrible parents who are scared of their kids and they don't discipline them. These terrible parents don't need to have kids in the first place if they aren't gonna be a good parent.

Incredible

This is one of the best books written and should be read by everyone, especially African-Americans. Dr. Cosby is right on the mark as usual.

Wise Insight & Leadership. Pay Attention People! ('Beastly Son').

Great inspiring book that all parents, or potential parents should read, minority or not! Involvement within Inner City Schools must happen! - (I've experienced positive life changing results first hand.) Confidence instilled within our young people is so important towards their future and ours. Like Bill Cosby says, "...we must act now before insanity is the norm."

Common sense - at last

It is certainly refreshing to hear someone speaking some common sense about such topics. Although he is addressing the black community, his observations and comments apply to all of us. We cannot fail to ignore the truths he states and expect to have a better community or nation.

how do we get others to read this?

As a member of the "choir" - Bill Cosby was only reaffirming what those of us who have worked in public education and have parented very actively already know. Now, how do we get thoe who NEED to learn how to be acgtive, positive members of society to read his book and make some changes?
