?Black Jack? Geary has ordered his
fleet
back to the Lakota Star System where the Syndics nearly destroyed them, a desperate gamble that may give them a fighting chance of survival?or tear them apart.
Great SCI FI book
This is
book
4. You should read the book in order. This is the best group of books I have read in a long time. If you like non-stop action these books are for you. Well worth your money.
Redundent
Good story still but less and less pages each
book
plus he keeps wasting pages on explaining everything everybook i mean if your reading book 4 and dont know how the meeting room works just give up reading

Another solid sequel
If you enjoyed the previous volumes of the series you won't be disappointed.
Four star rating reflects no so much the quality of the story but the remarkable consistency starting with volume one. Don't mean the
book
's not good. It is. Not the best SF novel I've ever read but most certainly an entertaining read. There are a few weak points like excessive soul searching and self disparaging discourses on the main protagonists part that sometimes were rather tiresome overall pretty solid job I'd say. Start with volume one and you'll know soon enough whether you'll like the rest.

Starting to Drag
I agree with everyone else who said this
book
was a step back from the previous three. The battles felt flat, I'm starting to get tired of the stock "isn't it funny how the Navy still does ____ but no one remembers why?" type scenes, and there was absolutely ZERO character or plot development in this chapter of the overall saga
Basically, other than having two people admit they're attracted to each other, nothing special happens for 300 pages.
Valiant
felt, to me, like it was rushed out to satisfy a schedule. I had alot of trouble visualizing the things that the book was describing, a first in this series, and when I got to the end of the book I felt like I'd just read the first chapter of a story
Loved the first three, hope the next two are WAY better than this. If book 5 isn't a big step up I won't bother with book 6
