Hunter
Sin has sought to regain his powers and take revenge on Artemis. But now he has bigger fish?or in this case, demons?to fry. The lethal gallu that were buried by his pantheon are stirring, and they are hungry for human flesh. Their goal: To destroy mankind. Sin is the only one who can stop them?if a certain woman doesn?t kill him first.
Enemies have always made strange bedfellows, but never more so than when the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Now a man who only knows betrayal must trust the one person most likely to hand him to the demons. Artemis
may
have stolen his godhood, but this one has stolen his heart. The only question is: Will she keep it?or feed it to those who want him dead?

Sexxy as SIN....
Sin is a former God and is hell bent on getting his powers back from the red headed goddes heifer(as Simi likes to call her), Artemis. This wasn't the best of the bunch, but it is really good. It was the first romance I have EVER bought Hardcover, but I will continue with this series because I will keep them forever. I have re read the series 3 times and I am itching for some Acheron...Definitely the best series, hands down, I have ever read!
Where is Joss Whedon when you need him? =D
I absolutely love the
Dark
Hunter
series by Sherrilyn Kenyon! Sure, some are better than others, but no one, and I mean NO ONE can write the paranormal fantasy action packed love story, better than Ms. Kenyon!
What I'd like to know: where is Joss Whedon (creator of "Angel" and "Buffy The Vampire Slayer") when you need him? This would make an awesome TV series!!
"
Devil
May
Cry
" was a 5* 1-nighter for me! And I can't wait...literally, I'm counting down the days until Aug. 5th, for Acheron's story!
Ms. Kenyon - what a beautiful mind! =)

Best one in years
Yeah,OK. I understand these characters are supposed to be immortal and everybody is more or less the same age. Still, I was taken aback when the heroine discovered that the hero's wife had an affair with her grandfather. Guess that's the difference in knowing something and actually understanding it.
This was a favorite for me at least partially because Ash & Simi played prominent roles. Artemis, too; although I get weary of the gods and goddesses. I think we were getting pumped with background to prepare us for the next
book
,"Acheron". Here's hoping it lives up to all the preliminary hype. Whether it does or not, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and getting to know Ash's other daughter.

"Even the devil may cry when he looks around hell and realizes he's there alone"
Eons ago, when the universe was ruled by more than one pantheon, Sin was one of the most powerful and revered Sumerian gods. However, power breeds jealousy and everyone knows how vicious those immortals could be. Befriended by the goddess Artemis, Sin had fallen prey for her charm, a mistake that would cause him dearly. Stripped of his powers, Sin found himself at the mercy of the Olympians unable to win the battle that wiped out his entire pantheon. If not for Acheron, he would never have survived. For years he has walked among us, having patiently waited for the day when he could seek his vengeance on Artemis, never anticipating the revelation that would greet him as he finally comes face to face with the goddess.
Fearing for her life, Artemis sends the one person she knows she can rely on. A former handmaiden of the goddess, Katra goes after Sin to try and thwart his plan to kill Artemis. But when she ends up being captured by Sin, she learns of the goddess' duplicity and is racked by guilt over her role in Sin's fate. To make matters worse, she also learns that the biggest threat to mankind is about to be unleashed. Knowing that Sin is the only one capable of defeating the Gallu and Dimme, Katra vows to make up for her errors by helping Sin in the upcoming battle.
We know what happens next from here on. The author tells that they have fallen in love sacrificing every need for character development so she could pen some sex scenes. Frankly speaking, it wasn't so much the characters that held my interest, but the revelations that come after. The Gallu, Dimme and Charonte, demons galore! The truth about Katra and the powerful bloodline that she possesses was a welcome surprise. But paramount of all is learning more about Acheron's youth, his relationship with Artemis and the reason why he cannot destroy her. These were what I enjoyed most about this
book
.
DEVIL

had every possibility of being on par with the earlier

novels. However, the sarcasm between the hero and heroine bordered on being childish and the romance felt too contrived to be believable. Yes, it was good to see the devil meet his salvation and find that he no longer needs to exist on his own, but the romance wasn't to die for. Yet these gripes aside, there is hope for more as we come closer to reading about the ultimate
Dark-Hunter
: Acheron. I simply cannot wait!

C, mediocre
Short synopsis: Sin is the Sumerian god of fertility. He has his powers taken from him by a Greek Goddess, Artemis. He plots to kill her and get his powers back.
Sin also runs a casino in Las Vegas while doing his part-time job of killing demons who shouldn't be wandering the earth. He has a minimal amount of god-like power that were transferred to him from his dying daughter.
Artemis would like to kill him because she knows Sin wants to kill her. One God, Acheron, who happens to be trapped with Artemis in her Pantheon refuses to because he is Sin's friend and he knows that Artemis stole his powers from him in a very unethical way. He is also the god of fate, so he attempts to do non-intervention whenever possible so that some fate is in the hands of people themselves.
Now, many eons ago, Artemis had a love affair with Acheron when he was human. When he was asked about his whereabouts his alibi was about making sweet monkey love to Artemis. He wasn't believed and Artemis never showed up. So, they kill him off. Acheron hates Artemis now. She's drama, self-absorbed and lame. And when she tries to come to him, he blows her off. She presents a child to him and he thinks its a peace offerring to make up for the death of a nephew (which I don't think is ever mentioned except in this one instance--- which is poor writing to me). Anyhow, he rebukes her not knowing it is his child.
Years later, Artemis asks Kat to kill her arch-nemesis, Sin. Kat investigates and decides not to.
Anyhow, lots of drama and cheese. I'm getting bored writing about this. I finished the
book
just because I wanted to. It wasn't a page turner.
The steamy parts were mediocre. The plot line had too many subplots. The cheese was stale.
Not a great book, but then again, not a completely terrible one. I bought this book because I remember reading another Sherrilyn Kenyon book in the dream-
hunter
series and thought that one was good. Then again, this one is book 11, so
may
be the author is now stretching the series.
