This is the story about a secret. but it also contains a secret story. When adventurous detectives, Cass, an ever-vigilant survivalist, and Max-Ernest, a boy driven by logic, discover the Symphony of Smells, a box filled with smelly vials of colorful ingredients, they accidentally stumble upon a mystery surrounding a dead magician's diary and the hunt for immortality. Filled with word games, anagrams, and featuring a mysterious narrator, this is a book that won't stay secret for long.

My BFF and I both read this. W eloved how the author seemed o be talking to you and how he warned you not to read it... Great book Mr. Bosch!

This is the best series! (Second only to Harry Potter) I ,being my 10-year-old self give this Bosch guy 5 stars;)

Great for geting kids to read

My daughter used to be a voracious reader, then she hit 10 and decided she would rather do other things like watch TV shows her friends were talking about. Since I am also an avid reader this saddened me and I bought many books trying to get her interest back. This was the book that did it. From the first page she was caught. She read the whole book in a week and we have since purchased the follow up book. If you are looking to get your child interested in reading I think this is a great book to try. I just wish there were more out there like it (and I am actively searching them out!).

My new favorite book!

I adore this book. It was soooooo much fun to read. I would reccomend this book to any 11 or 12 year old girl who, like me, loves excitement and adventure. I especially loved all of the little comments the author wrote at the bottom of the pages. Read this book!
