shop s mart for this great title

After reading the Army of darkness Re-Animator crossover I was a little leery about giving this cross over a try. However I was very pleasantly surprised to see just how wrong I was.

This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. Here we find our hero Ash from the Evil dead trilogy thrust into a variation of the Marvel Universe where a zombie plague has begun infecting the planet. Ash believes that the dreaded Necronomicon, if it exists in this strange world of caped weirdos, is the key to setting things right. Initially considered a looney by the most of the the heroes of the Marvel universe, he quickly becomes the key player of the entire book. Unlike some of the other stories that have been done, Ash's character- is kept untainted-esp with the witty remarks- and believable w/o the unnecessary use of popular lines from Army of Darkness over and over again. The same goes for the inhabitants of the marvel universe. In an interesting twist Ash convinces the Necronomicon to join forces with him to preserve both of their existences by creating an army of the dead to battle the zombified heroes. What happens? I'm not gonna tell ya except to say if you skip this book you are doomed to miss a great thing.

great but received it way to late

the book was just wat i expected fantastic, but my package got lost in the mail so i paid extea for getting my package late

Not very memorable, but fun!

Ash meets the Marvel Zombie Universe and pretty much lets them destroy themselves, he's just along for the ride, as he passes through their dimension.

This is a fun read, but really has no memorable moments. The art, however, is great! I'm always disappointed by comics that have great cover art but lame interiors, but this was a pleasant surprise.

I haven't been interested in any other Marvel Zombie books, but the AOD factor was enough to make me pick this one up.

Buy it if you like pointless crossovers.

This was okay, but not great.

This ha-ha, nudge-nudge, wink-wink crossover between the newly minted "Marvel Zombies" franchise and the older, darker "Evil Dead" series has its moments, but overall I found it only so-so. I loved "Evil Dead 2" and even, to a lesser extent, the other movies in the series. Seeing it adapted for the comicbook medium is less satisfying -- if you're not actually looking at Bruce Campbell the actor playing the character of Ash, it just ain't the same. The real payoff comes on the Marvel side of the fence -- this book shows us (from Ash's perspective) what happened when the zombie virus hit Earth, and how Earth's Mightiest all got infected. There is much splattering and chomping and Dr. Doom makes a last stand for humanity. Overall, this book is okay, and it compliments the other books in the series, but the series-crossover comedic schtick does get in the way most of the time. I'd rather have seen a straight-up story about Marvel Zombies: Ground Zero, or whatever.
