One word awesome!
Amazing sound for such small
speakers
. The sound is very clean, very crisp and the connections/wires are non existant....just one USB cord and that's it amazing clean kick a** sound in seconds. Very great buy and very awesome speakers for any laptop or portable device.
Very Very Good Portable Speakers
I've had the
V20
's for about a year and find them exceptional. I have them hooked up to my desktop because they provide superb sound, don't require a power plug, take little space, and are very attractive.
I agree that the cable connecting the two
speakers
could be longer, but the speaker set was designed for placement around a laptop, not across a table.
On the sound, I find it to be superb. Excellent bass, great sound separation (lows, mids, highs), and they're quite responsive (have a punch to them). I've compared the to a number of other smaller speakers and the V20's had a much better sound, even compared to ones that required separate power. Sound quality is a subjective, but I have and had $5,000+ home stereo systems most of my life and feel these little guys do a fantastic job.
I've read some feedback about the speakers jumping on your desk at high volumes. This will happen if you really jack up the volume. The sound produced at normal volumes is more than adequate for music listening. These things are not designed to fill up a large room with floor thumping sound. I've listened to music pretty loudly and have never had them jump. I wouldn't consider this an issue.
The speakers are attractive and are well made. They don't look cheap. One reason why they're permanently on my desk.
I strongly recommend these speakers. I think most people tend to agree due to the large number of reviews on Amazon for these speakers and the high average rating.

A great solution to tinny-sounding built-in laptop speakers...
Recently picked these up (unfortunately at a big box electronics dealer so could have saved myself $20 through Amazon) and I am very pleased with this purchase. As others have mentioned, the plug and play is a great feature and, in spite of what some have experienced, these
speakers
can be cranked up plenty loud (for me) with no distortion at all. The biggest setback is that the USB connections on my laptop are on the left and with the speaker connection (somewhat short)coming through the left speaker, the speakers can not be placed on either side of my laptop as I would have preferred; however, that can be easily resolved with a USB extension. If you are tired of the inferior speakers built into your laptop and are looking for a surprisingly rich sound, I would highly recommend these!

Good Portable Speakers but not Stellar by any means!
I travel quite a bit and I needed something easy to carry around to add a little oomph to my laptop. You can only listen to laptop
speakers
for so long! I work for the railroad, so I have limited space in my grip. These speakers fill the bill--nice case, not too large, and in the hotel room, they sound pretty good. They do lack considerably on the bass end of things and they are not that powerful. I had originally been using Bose Companion II speakers, which are not as easy to tote around, but they sound great and have great bass as well, but let's be fair, Bose CII are bigger speakers and have their own power supply, and they are considerably heavier. I gave those to my son and purchased these. For the frequent traveler, these USB powered speakers do the job, just don't expect audiophile quality. They do seem to sound better run through Winamp as opposed to other Windows based players as the sound can be "fine tuned" through various plug-ins offered by Winamp. Overall, for what they are--portable, small speakers--they do the job, just don't crank the volume up too much or you will certainly get distortion.
