Year two of Street Ball, the sports-reality series about a traveling team of ace home ballers, ratchets up the on-and-off-court drama by dangling a player contract before a long line of b-ball hopefuls from Fresno to Philadelphia. Essentially, the not-quite-NBA-caliber heroes from last season's team--AO, Main Event, Escalade, Skip to My Lou, and a few others--are back, touring and playing the best of local talent at different stops. But this time they're inviting players they like to hop aboard the bus and endure the Darwinian agony of surviving occasional votes on whether they stay or go. This added, calculated dimension detracts somewhat from the delightful innocence of the first season (Street Ball: The And 1 Mix Tape Tour), though there are unique highlights, such as the undersized, Tacoma teen who wows 'em during competition but proves too young to join the team. --Tom Keogh

Oh Baby!

This was a great season. I picked up this DVD after seeing only parts of some episodes on ESPN. I turned it on late one night to watch an episode or two and wound up watching the entire video. Some of the hazing was pretty funny too.

Reality TV

This is a good sports drama show...not all highlights and game footage but actual reality TV drama series as well. Espn did it well..there's some interesting drama scenes when main event tries to fight skip to my lou, AO gets into a fight during a game with a local streetballer....you see sik wit it, headache and the other guards all hating on the white boy professor...he steals the show however - he's humble and he neverplays scared...the only thing that irritates is that the and1 guys play him as a boy rookie and make him do pushups and stuff - a real streetballer wouldn't put up with that and would either fight or earn respect another way....

but the show was great...I couldnt' stop watching it...the highlights of helicopter and some new guys like night train are amazing....the pharmacist kills hot sauce and even has hotsauces' teammates calling hotsauce scared and "punk" for not going harder at pharmacist....

its a good show but I would say the first series is slightly better although this is still worth purchasing just because of the amazing show spyder, professor and helicopter put on ..

helicopter basically just owns alimoe...he kept ripping him when alimoe tried to do his dribble tricks throughout many games...

it was interesting though at the end - almost everyone votes professor for the contract except alimoe....he wanted helicopter....

Nice Try

This is a pretty decent series, it's entertaining and if you don't know that much about And1 it will definitely get you into it. Though it came out in 2004 this series is still all over ESPN and it's no secret of the main objective of the second season. The biggest thing is the open calls for local players to try and get a spot on the bus to get to the next level to earning a shot at an And1 contract.

Yes there was controversy on this tour among the And1 team but the most was between the young rookies trying to get a contract. Some of the pro ballers were ticked that they worked for years to get their name and where they're at and some kids just come to a tryout and they're in. Some people call it hating but in reality you can't blame them. The entire season showcased the problems between the rookies and And1 players more than the games.

The most over hyped and talked about player was the rookie Professor. The real problem is that he's a Caucasian kid trying for a spot on well you get what I'm saying. Other rookies like Spyda were aggravated because And1 were leaning towards picking Professor way ahead of the final pick because of obvious reasons you'll have to watch the show to see. Even after a bad game they never got rid of him and the rookies realized what was coming. I am in no way bias to race but in all truth the kid played good technical ball not street ball and there were others better than him that got no playing time.

That shows that this reality series is real and fake and at the same time. With the moves they made in this second season they took a step like rap took to being commercial. They also made bad decisions of who they let on the bus and who they didn't but they learned that after letting them in a few games. If you don't know much about And1 they give their history, the owner says a few things and they tell you how the company got started. This season is full of everything, entire games that should make highlight reels, tons of drama, and lots of new cats plus everything else you love from And1 but I hope they don't change too much. But this is just another reality show so who knows what's real and what's fake.
