Excellent Value!!!!

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. This is hands down the best smoker you can buy for the money. As far as the unit being damaged, don't blame it on the Manufacturer or on Amazon. Blame your UPS driver or whoever delivered it for you. Mine came fine packed in cardboard and styrofoam. I have had mine for almost a year and the ribs come out the best.

good smoker bad shipper

this is a great smoker...if you get in in good condition...it is not the couriers fault most of the time, it is the shipper, if they would double box it they would not have so many coming back...you would have thought they figured that out by now...

smoker is wonderful, amazon is great when i got my first one it was pretty smashed in the front,and had a very deep about 6 inch gash where the metal had split due to the shippers packaging.. no problems sending it back...the second one was a bit messed up in the back, but i had 32 fish waiting to be smoked, so i kept it..works great, not too bad to clean either

Got what I expected

After doing a lot of research on the internet, I had decided on this smoker even though there were a lot of reviews about how banged up it gets because of poor packaging. The unit I received was a little banged up, but not bad enough to go through the hassle of returning it. I did have to break out my tools and do some minor tweaking on some bent parts, but once it was assembled, it worked just fine. I have used it twice now and am planning on using it again this weekend. So far I have only tried smoking ribs and chicken and both have turned out fine. Invest in a good meat thermometer and some insulated food gloves.

Great smoker for the money! Bigger is better!

Being a member of Smokingmeatforums.com, this smoker came highly recommended.

I upgraded from a BBQ Grillware upright propane smoker (Lowe's brand) and was happy with it, except for the capacity. I wanted a better smoker, so I got this. I was originally going to pick one up at Bass Pro, but theirs was HIGHLY damaged. No thanks. The welds on the top were broken, etc. So, I buy it on here. Yes, mine like many others came with damage. The corner was crushed some, but all in all, structurely sound. The only thing that kept me from rating it 5 stars was the manufacturing and shipping. The walls are thinner than my Lowe's smoker was, and due to this and not thick enough of a box, there will almost ALWAYS be damage.

Smoking whole racks of ribs, multiple large pork butts, etc is awesome.
Definitely buy this if you are serious about a propane smoker for under $250. Don't go with an El Cheapo Brinkmann or another smaller smoker. You'll regret it. Bigger is better!

Fair Smoker but Poor Quality with No Company Support

I have owned this smoker for 9 months. I have to admit I purchased it due to price. The water tray is adequate but should be checked twice in a typical smoking cycle. The smoke box (wood tray) is too thick and doesn't create enough smoke for some applications. So the first thing I did was make a new wood tray out of a coffee can to induce more smoke into the unit. That worked great. But just 2 weeks ago the unit no longer has a flame adjustment. I assumed it was the regulator and so replaced it. No change. I have tried contacting Walmart (where I purchased it) and Great Outdoors. Walmart will not stand behind the product beyond 90 days. And Great Outdoors is in Chapter 11. You will not have any warranty support on this product. Consider another smoker if you can. I'm stuck! :-(
