Duchovny X-cels in this X-cellent and seXy show

**Ok, forgive the title. I am just such a huge X-Files fan, I couldn't help myself.**
As a major Mulder fan, I love David Duchovny. I was a little skeptical of "Californication" at first. I thought it might be one of those T and A shows for men --with no substance. But I quickly fell in LOVE with this melancholy yet funny, sexy, sweet show. I even love the artsy and moody (no pun intended) opening shots and music.
I always knew Duchovny had range X-ceeding beyond Mulder, which he proved in the movie "Kalifornia" that he made years ago with Brad Pitt. Duchovny has often shown his sense of humor too--even on very dark episodes of X-Files.
But in "Californication" Duchovny really makes Hank Moody come to life. You love him even as he self destructs. As a woman, I can understand and identify the desire of all the women around him wanting to make things all better for him, even if for just one night.
The poignant relationship between Hank and Karen is achingly heartbreaking at times, especially for those of us who know that feeling all too well--the feeling of yearning for "once upon a time."
The show resembles "Sex and the City". I can't help but notice the similarities between Californication and SATC. Some are obvious, like the fact Duchovny was in both shows. And that actor Evan Handler was a regular character in both shows, as well. Also, Hank is a writer, like Carrie. Both titles refer to the act of intercourse. Both Hank and Carrie reflect on relationships and write about them as they go through certain issues.
Is "Californication" the male LA version of SATC's female NY version? Who knows, who cares. Both shows are excellent and even in their similarities, they are very original and so well written and witty. Kudos.

A great transaction

It's a great DVD and a great company to deal with. The transaction was smooth and efficient. Will do business with again!

Feisty, sexy and hilariously funny...

Maybe it's due to the fact that I was born and raised in Europe, that I find this show not at all shocking. Duchovny's character is quite common over here and it's best to take them with a good laugh. Underneath all this broken up, f.cked up image he depicts, there is a little lost boy. But, as in life, not everybody can be saved. I think this show is very funny, finally an intelligent adult series. I hate all these cleaned up versions of happy-go-lucky soap operas, where nobody ever uses a bad word, nor takes a serious gulp of whiskey or even has some steamy sex. Well this is more like it. Life isn't at all like Gilmore-Girls and why not tell about it? I hope the show will carry on for some time, I'd love to see all the characters develop. And as I am on the subject, I am not all too sure about that sex-addiction thing of Mr. Duchovny. Maybe it is just a publicity stunt. Well, I don't care, as long as he keeps on doing this fine work.
