Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, Book 1) Ilona Andrews
Ace, 2007
Great story
+ Promising new heroine + Magic Bites is Great!!
This book has a great story involving a great main character, living in a magical version of the present world. First and foremost this book is a mystery investigation. It would be similar to an updated Alfred Hitchcock story line, if Angelina Jolie played the sword wielding investigator. The main ...

Angel-Seeker (Samaria, Book 5) Sharon Shinn
Ace, 2005
My 2nd favorite book in the series
+ a good book + A fully realized world
I love this book, it is set in the same time as the first book in the series "Archangel". And the main charecter is "Obadiah" one of my favorite charecters from book 1. Worth reading over and over again. Which I have, lol. I lost my first copy and was so upset about it I had to buy another one.

First, as one who sticks almost exclusively to the epic "high fantasy" genre with the occasional sci-fi, Bishop's books are an interesting change. The characters, their thoughts and feelings, trials and hopes, form the basis of these books and the fantasy world comes almost secondary.
But any ...
